Great oven, worth the money.

"We had the old series 8 oven (still going strong but we moved house) which was very good so we wanted another. As series 8 now seems to be a v high end model it was a lot more expensive than our old one. Certainly the quality of the product is very good. It cooks brilliantly which was my main reason for buying it. I’ve given 4 star because the digital interface could be better. It’s easy to wipe the display without physical buttons or a physical wheel but things like setting minute increments on the timer are now a bit more fiddly. Having said that, it has got easier the more I’ve used it.

It annoys me a little that you have to tap the display in order to make the timer button appear to use the timer. The only button that’s always visible is the on off button. It is pretty quick to wake the display when you tap the centre circle though and most other settings on the menus are easy to access.

Nice surprise was that I really like the crisp finish function. It basically just increases the airflow using the fans and stops things from being soggy. It’s surprisingly useful if you do things like add your own veggie bits on top of frozen pizzas as it is great as preventing sogginess! Also found it quite useful for fish fingers!

I’m also looking forward to using the integrated meat probe which came with the oven. You plug it into the inside of the oven and then stick it into the joint of meat or vegan roast and you can set the temperature you want it to reach.

Honestly, it is an expensive oven and I wouldn’t usually spend this much but with inflation and general price rises I recon this isn’t that bad value for its general quality. It also helps that the oven we had here when we moved in was so bad I wanted to destroy it.

I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed with this oven if you are thinking of purchasing it. I considered the one with the microwave function as that’s also excellent (used to have the smaller series version) but I’m glad I didn’t get that and saved the cash. This does everything I need an oven to.

One last point. Do check the dimensions carefully as mine “almost” didn’t fit because although it’s a standard size the display comes up very high so the front surround frame is essentially built towards the top end of the unit dimensions. Given mine did fit in our small kitchen it should fit in most others but do check the specs.

All in all I would buy this again and think it’s money well spent for properly cooked food.
