Stylish cooker with some great and some not so great features

"We bought this cooker to replace a very old Belling Farmhouse range cooker that had steadily been losing functions for a few years.

The induction hob on the new cooker is incredible - so easy to use, and very effective and efficient. We did have to replace some of our pots but we expected that would be the case anyway. Huge thumbs up for the hob ????

I'm not as happy about the ovens however. They seem to take quite a while to get up to temperature and then take longer than the recipe advises. Even the grill is very slow to heat up compared with the old cooker. The air fryer function is the most disappointing. I had purchased a little air fryer multifunction oven to tide me over while we were saving up for a new cooker and it is so fast - I always have to adjust the time and temperature down when I use it. The air fryer function in the new oven doesn't seem any faster than the other ovens and I've been turning the temperature up. The printed instructions were pretty minimal so I am going to look online for better instructions or user videos just in case I'm not doing things correctly - which is quite possibly the case. As other reviewers have said, the cooling fan us very loud and goes on for far too long so not handy if you have an open plan kitchen. Conversely, the timer alarm is too quiet (even though there are 3 volume settings). I haven't used the slow cooker function yet but the keep warm setting in the conventional oven is great for warming plates.

It is a very stylish and solidly built cooker though and all the doors are sturdy and close securely - it looks fab and gets lots of comments from visitors.

At the moment we use the hob the most so I am loving the cooker for that reason, and I do think I need to research the oven functions a bit more. But I think I'm going to keep my little spare oven just in case!!"

Honest review from previous gas users.

"Works well and looks nice but the instructions are pretty awful, and definitely don't cover everything especiallyif you're comming from gas. Also the connection for the power supply leaves something to be desired as our electrician wanted to use lugs to connect but the connections just didn't have the space and the cooker really does want a three phase connection to make the best use and efficiency of it. The alarm sound may as well be labelled barely audible to none existant in the kitchen.

All that being said we do really like the cookers style and usability once you get used to it, like having to wait to preheat the ovens or grill and wait for the cooling fans to kick in before using them."

Black Belling Range

"Lovely understated looking range cooker. Many I looked at have far too much going on. Previously had a Stoves which was over 18 years old when replaced, hopefully this will one will stand the test of time. Belling have been around for over a century so they should have got things right by now. Only downside so far is the fans which are quite noticeable and seem to run on for longer than my previous cooker. So far very happy"
