Smeg SIM562B Built In Induction Hob - Black

4.7 / 5 (3 reviews)

Induction technology. The SIM562B from Smeg isn't your average hob. This is an induction hob, which uses electromagnets to heat the pan rather than the surface of the hob. This means it's really efficient and safer too. The two zones on the left can be combined to create one huge Multizone - great for fish pans or griddles. Each zone has its own timer and there's a child safety lock too, that stops little fingers messing with the controls.

Product Reviews

Good job some issues

Pros: Ease to use, Looks good, Quiet

Cons: Expensive

"Overall this is a great hob. The multi zone power means you can get even heat over larger pans or fish kettles. It's easy to to turn on and instead of using the slider I push the buttons individually. It seems easier. We've been using it for about two weeks now and have found it scratches easier than expected and a couple of dings in the glass from pans (not overzealous users either). I'm really pleased. It is an expensive hob, but some lovely features. Easy to clean in the sense that it's not no ridges or buttons but it's hard to get it streak free."

Everything you ever wanted

Pros: Ease to use, Good build quality, Looks good, Quiet, Value for money

Cons: None

"The smaller than usual aperture available in the marble worktop I inherited when buying my flat meant I had to do extensive research to find a hob that fitted and consequently my options were limited. That's where the limitations ended, the Smeg hob oozed quality in build and appearance with a performance to match. If I'd had the full range of induction hobs to choose from I'm confident I would have struggled to find one better. It met all my requirements and is both easy and a pleasure to use."

Loving this hob!

"We've wanted an induction hob for a long time and definitely aren't disappointed by this one. Very easy to use (although the dog figured out how to use the child lock before we did!), and the ability to control the heat is fantastic. Looks great too, has really made the kitchen. Cleaning is practically effortless although it does pick up finger prints very easily and we may find ourselves getting OCD about it being clean!

Was installed by a private electrical engineer who pointed out to us that one side of the support frame was slightly bent. This didn't affect the installation though, and is not seen at all when installed.

A few of our pans, although magentic, didn't work so you do need good quality pans for it to work properly."
