Pros: Good build quality
"My son suggested I replace my old ceramic hob cooker with an induction type. I have been very pleased with this item. The controls are easy to use although I do need my glasses to see what I am doing sometimes! The boost function is useful for bringing home made soups up to simmer quickly and pans of water for boiling pasta. If you hold the control it cools/heats quickly to temperature. Cleans easily and looks good in the kitchen. Just have to be careful not to put the child lock on when you don't need to - panic sets in when it refuses to work until you realise what you have done!! Good purchase. "

"This is the third induction hob I've had and this doesn't perform as efficiently by quite a long way. 1) control of the heat of the hob is very slow, eg if you have a pan about boil over the count down via the controller is frustratingly slow, 9 wait wait, 9. wait wait, 8 wait wait 8. wait wait so that you have to lift the pan from the hob like a traditional electric ring. 2) even at setting 9 it takes much longer to heat up than expected e.g. I would usually boil water for cooking on the hob as quicker than kettle but have had to revert to using the kettle. Previous hobs would boil, and reboil after adding veg etc within seconds. this takes several minutes 3) Boost is a joke as to use the Boost you have to turn off all the other rings, which given the controller is so slow takes several minutes rather than a quick press of a button. This is unacceptable. 4) the heat isn't applied over the whole surface of the base of the pan e.g I used my oven tray to make gravy on the combi area. Previous hobs would heat over the whole of the base area, this heated in two circles where the rings were. 5) I've now made several of my 'standard' meals using this and meals I could prepare in 30mins now take 45mins or longer. 6) the beeps, it beeps constantly every time you press anything. Slowly driving me mad. CONCLUSION;- I bought this as has had excellent reviews and previous Bosch products have been good. So, I don't know if I've just got a Friday afternoon one or other reviewers didn't have much experience of induction hobs and therefore didn't have high expectations but this is a disappointing product. Rereading my review I'm aware it sounds a picky but if you're buying and paying for an induction hob you want that functionality and my conclusion is that if this didn't have induction written all over it I would assume, from it's performance, that it was a ceramic hob "
