"After a couple of weeks, I've only used it a few times, including some of the various modes with or without the built-in grill. The complexity takes a bit of getting used to, and the instructions are a bit opaque about some aspects, like when to use the grill and microwave together is it okay to use the crisping/browning plate on top of the metal stand or only when it's on the glass turntable? Hmm.
It doesn't turn everything off when the timer finishes, the light stays on and the turntable keeps revolving, so that threw me a bit. I don't understand why exactly it does that, but it does stop any cooking when the timer ends.
It seems well made and certainly has some style compared to my twenty-year old previous one. I've barely started to use all the built-in 'menu' settings, and the instructions are sparse, but some look useful while others I'll probably never use (but that's true of my washing machine too, so I guess more is better right?)
The twin sources of microwaves, one high, one low, certainly improve the distribution of heating, and with the grill on too, it's very efficient. Unlike my old machine you can adjust the power with a top scale of 800W. That's useful for more nuanced cooking and reducing hot spots. Some old favourites needed less time on the top setting, so watch for that if you've upgraded e.g. a mug of milk boiled over in 1m40s instead of my usual 2m. I probably should have predicted that. Oops!
It's harder to see through the door window than my previous machine, so I found it harder to see when things are steaming or beginning to boil. But you can add or subtract time on-the-fly with a plus and minus button, which is useful. The touch sensitive controls are pretty responsive but in contrast, to open the door is a bit clunky: there's no handle, you pull it open using a recessed hand-hold in the base of the door. Not a problem for me as mine's on brackets up at eye height, but if it's on a worktop and away from the front edge it may be a little awkward.
I think baked potatoes will be awesome in this. Other reviewers have said so too. I plan to use this more and my conventional oven and grill less. I'm sure I'll get used to its many functions and modes with careful experimentation."
"All I can say is that it would PROBABLY do the business IF the instructions were COHERENT. For example…Why mention ‘Pause Cooking’ without any mention of ‘Start Cooking’ ? Then… there’s the Clock. How many dishes cook for 12 hours ? That’s were you start. How to select 5 minutes ? I still haven’t found the solution !"
It’s a very nice product and easy to use
