Broken within 2 months

"Our 2 month old fridge freezer has already broken...the fridge no longer gets cold. We loved it at first, but out of the blue it broke...not what you expect from a brand new appliance.

We called Hoover as it's within warranty, but not a single apology for it breaking and after a frustrating conversation, fully describing the issue and noise it was making an engineer was organised to come 'fix it'.

The engineer arrives to say that it's an issue with the gas but he's not gas trained so he's unable to actually fix it...what's the point in sending out someone unable to fix the issue!? At this point we've already been without a fridge for 2 weeks whilst we waited for the engineer to come, and now we've been offered an appointment with a capable engineer for another 3 weeks time!!??

So we're expected to be without a fridge for over a month, no apology or explanation why a 2 month old fridge has broken and no guarantee that even if an engineer does come out they'll be able to fix it.

Frustrated is an understatement. All trust with this brand is lost and the way we've been treated like they couldn't care less is completely disrespectful.

Pro's and Con's

"Pro's:

Really nice F/F. Compared to the one it replaced that sounded like it was steam powered this one is silent. Perfect size for a couple or small family. Well designed layout of both the fridge and the freezer.

Con's:

Annoyingly there is no paper manual supplied and when you look up the online manual on the Hoover website for this model there is very little useful information. However if you look up the manual for the Hoover HOCE3T618FBK (exactly the same model but in black) you will find everything you need to know. e.g. we were worried the freezer temp was a bit high after 24hrs until we found out the freezer easy flow control had a bearing on this. No mention in the HOCE3T618FWK manual but explained perfectly in the HOCE3T618FBK manual.

Also states there is a humidity control for the salad crisper in the description but sorry that ain't true. No egg holder either.

On the whole happy with the purchase but someone at Hoover doesn't know how to cut and paste."

Very impressed with this fridge freezer

"A surprisingly great product. We inherited such a small fridge freezer in this house - the gap in the tiny kitchen is small so getting a larger capacity fridge and freezer without it being too deep was proving impossible until my ao search brought this one up. We had Covid in the house when our small one broke down, and for the first time ever I could not go out and shop and actually see/feel my new appliance. This appliance is great though - so much bigger and roomier inside both the fridge and freezer, and actually it’s very attractive inside and not cheap looking, bearing in mind this appliance was such a reasonable price. Very impressed."

Happy with it

"Not had it long but it is functioning well. Fridge/freezer looks nice. Door shelf thingies can go at different heights. Can get 4-pint milk bottles and wine bottles in with a bit of rearranging. "
