Dry cycle makes clothes wet. LG support terrible.

"Faulty out of the box.

Ok, that happens occasionally, I can cope with that, however three weeks later and I'm getting messed around by customer support trying to get this resolved which is not acceptable. Who wants to go three+ weeks with a faulty washing machine? Given the way it's going and the holidays coming up I suspect it will be more like 6 weeks before I stand a hope of a properly working one.

Dry cycle is making the clothes wetter than when it starts, wash + dry - clothes come out steaming and soaking - visibly wet with the odd small patch that looks dry (but isn't).

Tried putting in a dry t-shirts, run dry cycle, they come out wet, it's magic!

LG support is terrible, everything takes days, it's been nearly three weeks since I took delivery and noticed the fault, and still no resolution from LG/AO.

I requested a replacement after an initial engineer visit didn't resolve things, but now I have to have a second engineer visit. That's 7 days away. Which will make it 22 December, so I guess given how things are going so far it will be next year before I stand any hope of a properly working machine.

AO and LG refusing to replace the faulty machine based on the first engineers report who they claim reported that the 'filter was blocked'. Side note - the copy of the report I have doesn't mention that and the engineer never mentioned that to me. (Spoiler: it's still broken, even with the supposedly cleaned filter).

That first engineer visit, he didn't seem interested in the dryer making clothes wet and suspected various other things, waffled about water recycling, load sensing, complained about washing machines being too complicated, he stayed for 20 minutes max, left with a wash (no dry) cycle running and said he's call back at 4:30 to see how it went. He eventually called back at 7:30 - I could have told him the result before he left exactly (clothes as dry as you'd expect from a spin, it's the dry cycle making them wet) - but I guess the 5 other people he had to visit were his priority and he had only arrived at mine in the last few minutes of the stated time. He said he'd need to speak with LG technical people in the morning, I never heard from him again, but LG are now claiming he unclogged the filter so it's all good.

I've now waited a week for the LG returns people to issue an uplift to AO, but nothing is happening, apparently they're busy, constant 'allow 24-48 hours', and suggestions that no reply means they won't issue the uplift number. LG now say because the engineers report says it was a clogged filter (on a brand new out of the box washing machine!!! Really?) they need another engineer visit before they can issue an uplift to replace this faulty unit, so now I have 7 day wait for the engineer, then no doubt another 48 hours for returns to do nothing, this despite the LG customer support person saying on the phone, to myself and the AO rep they we're happy for a replacement and the AO person just needs to email returns to get a number.....

Every interaction with LG takes days. For example, the Initial support call, through in minutes, but it's just person who takes your number, says all the support people are busy so they'll call you back in 1-2 days. Useless. Eventually they called me back, 7pm the next day, naturally I missed the single call they tried, so then it was yet another days delay.

WiFi / app is a disappointment, I was interested in power monitoring, all it shows is a naff graph, no units, no values, just a naff little graph of power usage - no real time power consumption. Sadly no water usage monitoring - which you'd think would be important for a washer / dryer and something I'd aim to optimise.

No indication of humidity level or temperature in the app when drying, again, you'd think that would be useful / interesting, I assume theirs some monitoring on the washer/dryer itself, just not exposed in the app.

Only one downloadable program, lots of other useless programs I don't want on the dial, but I can only download one custom one.

I've not managed to get it working with the A lady yet. You have to press a special key combination on the machine to use remote control, it's all very limited what can be done from the app, really disappointing.

App looks more focused on upselling other LG stuff than the actual washer dryer, with a constant promotion flicking at the bottom of the apps hope screen just to really annoy you.

Dry cycle has various options, but you can't select them from the app, so you're left to guess what the little icons on the machines display mean.

It's great you can disable the "beep" function easily, because it plays annoyingly stupid tunes when enabled, sadly it's either stupid tunes or nothing, no option for a gentle single beep when it's finished.

When calling AO support, be careful not to chose the 80s play list, they're totally rick roll you! Seriously, who thought that's a good song for customers waiting (cough) longer than usual, to listen to whilst on hold...

Overall, disappointed by the product, really annoyed by LGs support and AO seem intent on grasping defeat from the jaws of victory."

Fabulous Washer Dryer

"Fabulous Washer Dryer.

This is my third LG and the quality is as good as always. My last Washer / Dryer lasted for 10 years so I am hopeful that this one will be the same.

The features and options on this are more sophisticated. I love being able to add items after the wash has started, the turbo wash and steam functions and the ability to spin or dry without having to go through a rinse cycle.

"Perfect washing machine. Large opening for 10.5kg of laundry. I love the automatic laundry detergent and conditioner dispenser, as now my other half can never forget the conditioner , lol!"

"Good washer very quite. Would be five stars if the drying capacity was a little larger. Also the condenser drain is a bit difficult and could really do with a little longer tube."
