Beko gas double oven

"Bought as a replacement for a very old gas cooker . I live alone now and I’m a 73 yr old man but a good cook so I’m told .

I’ve had Beko products before and found them reliable

So I purchased this Beko free standing cooker with a double oven and a glass lid over the hob .

The silver grey colour nicely matched my kitchen colours.

Ordering with AO was simple and straight forward . Delivery prompt and I paid for installation and recycling old cooker . Glad I did as it removed a lot of hassle .

The job is good size with good burners . Pans heat up quickly and gas control is good

Neither hob nor ovens have automatic igniters . You have to hold the dial in whilst pressing the igniter button and holding it a few seconds until it stays alight . A safety design I guess but this requirement could cause difficulty for any one disabled hands or arms . I guess many cookers are thus way now .

Ovens heat up quickly with nice blue flame and so far I’ve found the cooking of food to be good and accurate .

Two adjustable shelves in main oven and one in smaller oven . I do wish manufacturers would provide a third fir main oven so I may buy a spare .

The oven has a fan which operates whilst cooking and remains on when finish to cool the appliance down .

Lowering glass lid over hob shuts the gas off which is another safety feature

The clock and timers on digital front are easy to program

I always look at how easy it is to clean and the hob is simple to wipe over containing spills and main oven has easy clean surfaces too.

One thing I did notice is the cooker is advertised as 60 cm width and depth

My space to install it was 60.5 cm . But my new cooker actually measured 59 cm .

This means I have a gap either side of cooker and food could drip down here . This may be a problem for sone so best carefully check if size needs to be accurate .

Nice glass doors on ovens which means you can keep a careful eye on cooking together with the oven lamp.

Top oven is a good size and also useful for keeping plates warm . It can be used as a gas oven or a grill . They do supply a grill pan with the cooker .

I would so far recommend it and I’d also recommend delivery , installation and recycling old appliance . "

A nice cooker

"It’s a nice design cooker . Both ovens are a good size and heat up quickly .

The cooker does not have automatic igniters so on hob and ovens you have to turn and keep pressed the dial whilst operating the igniter with the other hand . You then must keep button pressed in for a few seconds until

the gas stays alight. Now this could be a problem for anyone with a disability .

My other gripe is I bought the oven as it stated in documentation on line that it was 60cm wide and deep. Mine is not. It’s 59 cm and thus does mean there’s quite a gap either side between cooker and kitchen units .

Additionally if the cooker is level With your units and worktop the glass lid raises the height and inch or so sk the lid sits proud and not level.

This could be a problem for some people.

It’s a nice looking cooker easy to clean and wipe down . Simple touch screen to set clock and timers .

The hob has one large burner which is good for a large pan or a wok . There are two smaller burners and one very small burner . I found they heated pans quite quickly.

The oven has a fan which runs after the cooker is shut down to cool things down .

In summary I’m pleased with it except for size and the nigly igniters
