New fridge freezer

"The fridge is really good functioning wise. I read a lot of reviews saying that their fruits and veg is getting frozen in the box but I haven't faced any such issues. I replaced my old zanussi integrated fridge and the difference between the freshness of produce is night and day. For example a bunch of coriander would only stay fresh in our old fridge for 2-3 days but we are able to keep coriander fresh for over a week here. This is an amazing product at this price. No Frost in the fridge or freezer at all yet. The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 5 is because I believe the space in the fridge is a little lesser as compared to our old zanussi fridge but it's a very tiny difference not everyone would notice. "

Had problems

"Unfortunately we had to get a replacement as we received a faulty fridge/freezer the bottom shelf was freezing all our food the temperature wasn’t controlling itself properly. We have now had it reinstalled but I’m still waiting for them to return as it’s now not been fitted correctly as it’s integrated. Not a bad appliance like the fruit/veg drawer it does keep fresher but just want everything sorted originally bought in June it’s now almost December!"

"What an experience! I cannot fault AO, they have been brilliant and so easy to deal with but I would never buy a Beko product ever again!

I purchased this fridge in August 2022. When it arrived I was very impressed. I thought the Harvest fresh was a gimmick but it actually worked, it kept my food fresh for several weeks which reduced the food bill as I didn’t have to buy it fresh ever week.

Then things changed, I noticed my fruit and veg were starting to freeze, so was anything on the shelf above it. So I called Beko at the beginning of June 2023 to report the fault.

There was a problem with the system so the customer service advisor was going to call me back, they didn’t. I call back and they are closed so I have to wait until the following morning. When I finally get to speak with someone, I explained the problem and an engineer visit was booked.

The following day I got a call from the engineer’s company telling me they don’t have anyone in my area on the day I have booked, so I rebook.

Engineer 1 came out, he diagnosed the circuit boards so ordered them. I arranged for it to be fitted. The company ring me and rearrange because there is no one in my area on my chosen day.

Engineer 2 fits the circuit boards. Advising that if the problem persists to just keep my fruit and veg wrapped so it doesn’t freeze.

The problem still occurred so I called again. Engineer 3 came out, he tells me to turn the fridge down as the lower the temperature the warmer the fridge so I explain it’s a digital display and the temperature shown is the temperature the fridge should be. He diagnosed the fan. Engineer 4 came out to fit it.

When engineer 5 came out for the same problem, he said it was the valve between the fridge and the freezer. Engineer 6 fitted the valve.

By this time it’s September and my fridge freezer is now like Trigger’s broom with all the possible replaceable parts replaced, yet it still wasn’t working. So I call again, Beko arrange for an engineer to come out and do an inspection.

The company ring me to rearrange the appointment as they don’t have anyone in my area on the day I have booked.

Engineer 7 spent an hour and a half, inspecting the fridge freezer, he told us he would send a report to Beko and they would get in contact. They didn’t. A week later I phoned them.

I was told they had the report and it was recommended we have a replacement and they would send through for authorisation for an uplift code which I would received in 2-48hours.

A week later no code.

I phone Beko again, I’m told the person before hadn’t submitted the request but they would do it now and I will have a code within 48 hours. That didn’t happen either. So after 4 days (I’m a patient person), I call again.

The person I spoke to advised they could see the request was made and would call me back after finding out why I didn’t yet have an uplift code. They didn’t call back so I phoned them, again. I am told technically difficulties prevented the request going through but it has definitely gone through now as urgent as I have phoned to chance it up. I’m told to wait up to 48 hours.

You guessed it, 48 hours pass and no one at Beko has contacted me to advise on my uplift code. So I call again. The person that I spoke to politely told me that the claim had been authorised (finally) and gave me the uplift code.

At this point I was far happier than anyone should ever be having to exchange a product as I could rid Beko from my life. The customer service was diabolical.

Thankfully AO made up for my experience with Beko and were kind, helpful and polite when I explained why I wanted to exchange my fridge freezer for a completely different manufacturer. They supported me to arrange the collection and delivery of my new one and a day later it had arrived. Thank you AO for restoring my faith in customer service.

But I will still never buy anything from Beko ever again."
