Exceptional TV for the money

"Just had this TV a couple of days as an additional TV for the household.. For the money, this is definitely a 5 star product. Toshiba make decent quality electronics and whilst it doesn't have the wow factor of other brands, there is plenty to get excited about with this TV. One of the reasons I was quite happy getting a Toshiba is that our other TV is a Toshiba and is still going strong after about 10 years!

Firstly I found setup to be easy as. Just plug in the relevant cables (Coax / HDMI etc), switch it on and allow the setup assistant to take you through the necessary steps to get you up and running. I found the WPS internet connectivity feature didn't work for me however it isn't a bother to manually enter a wifi password.

Lookswise I think it's a decent bit of kit if not as sleek and styled as some other brands. In terms of physical attributes, the only thing I would be critical of is the remote which feels as though it could blow away in the wind being so light. The TV is also light and I was able to mount it on the wall without someone helping me (Although I wouldn't recommend doing this as you should always have someone to assist)

In terms of picture and sound quality it isn't the best, but then it is a 4K TV under £400 and it is still exceptionally good. My inlaws forked out £1600 last year for an all singing and dancing Samsung, and whilst they enjoy slightly better picture and sound quality, I've got a more than capable machine which still really impresses. I actually bought the Philips Tab5105/10 soundbar with it as it was on offer and don't think I'll bother using it with this machine as the sound quality is good enough for me without it.

The other nice thing I liked was when I plugged in a Firestick, the TV recognised it on the Sources menu so rather then listing HDMI 1, it said 'Firestick TV'. Also, I live just inside Wales and when tuning the DTV channels, it asked me if I wanted the South West channel list or if I wanted South Wales.

The one thing that marks this TV down if anything is that it is Linux based and not Android. This means that it doesn't have a great app library and crucially Disney+ is not yet really available (I did try accessing it through the TV's web browser and it appeared to work but was clunky at best). This is no bother if you have a Firestick / Roku / Apple TV etc as you can use the app via them.

To summarise, really great TV for the money and if you are looking for a large 4K TV on a budget, this is the one. You'll get high-end visuals and great sound, if you want more, you'll either have to save up a fair bit extra or go and watch TV round my inlaws..."

Excellent TV, and a great price

"This is one great TV, picture is immaculate, sound is great, I've even stopped using my surround sound. For the price this has to be the best in that range. Xbox looks amazing on it. Kids love it too. Would recommend."
