SMEG dishwasher happy customer

"Great dishwasher, very quiet & does what it’s meant to .

Baskets are less solid than previous one but nothing is as well built as it used to be ???????

If I’m to be critical, no real complaints at all ??"

Quiet and lots of room.

"I like the extra drawer at the top for cutlery, I’ve got rid of the basket so have a lot more room for plates in the bottom. "

Just not very good

"It has all of the fancy compartments which you can move around to suit your needs which is why I gave it the 2 stars. Other than that though - we're 3 weeks in to using this at least once daily and it's so disappointing. There are certain areas, like all 4 corners of the bottom tray - that the water just doesn't seem to reach - whatever you put there - doesn't get clean and I don't think I've ever ran a cycle and not needed to rewash a few things. It's a very similar story with the cutlery tray - it's more style over substance and doesn't do a great job.

We've tried all of the settings on there as well as the rinse aid and dishwasher tablets recommended by Smeg and it doesn't make a difference. Overall I would just completely avoid this model. "

Good but....

"The dishwasher itself is very quiet and washes well. The detergent door shuts easily so no continual pressing to keep it closed (unlike the last Beko one). Plenty of programmes to choose from and all seems good so far (1 week in) HOWEVER, we have had to remove the cutlery drawer from the top of the dishwasher because we have 28cm dinner plates which requires the upper basket to be raised to it's highest point or the spinning jet thing doesn't spin (it hits the plates). This then means that even normal tumblers can't fit in the upper basket because they hit the cutlery tray. The missus won't have smaller (25cm) dinner plates because the designs are not as good (apparently cream is boring ??) so our only option is to go back to the ubiquitous cutlery basket - which negates the whole point of having a cutlery tray and more space beneath for dishes and remove the cutlery tray (and are now storing this in the loft ??) At least the dishwasher came with a basket for the cutlery so not all bad. ??"

Excellent machine

"I won my last Dishwasher off eBay 10 years ago for 99p. It was also a smeg and it was still working but was looking faded and wasn't cleaning as well as it used to.

I decided to get a new Smeg but couldn't afford to buy one outright.

I love this machine. It is simple to install, instructions are pretty clear, the door auto opens when finished so I'm not wondering whether I actually ran it or not, as well as aiding drying.

It also rated B for economy too so basically I'm very happy with it!"

Serviceable dishwasher

"Good design, very suitable for a family as we can fit a lot into it. We like the range of programmes, although the one-hour quick wash is only really good for very lightly used crockery. The top tray for cutlery is a good idea, but if the tray beneath has a lot in it not enough water reaches the top to get the cutlery properly clean. "
