"I was looking for a replacement for my 5.1 surround sound. This Soundbar has 3.1.2. channels so you get stereo left to right sound effect plus the overhead channel which gives the impression of things flying over and the subwoofer gives a good rumbling effect. (With Atmos or DTS:X soundtracks on Adaptive Mode)
It is a vast improvement on the TV speakers and I really think it is an improvement on my old surround sound. Granted you dont get the rear channels in this package but you can buy an upgrade and connect the rear speaker by blue tooth.
Advantages of the system over my old 5.1 surround sound are, sound quality, it does seem 3 dimensional with an atmos compatible blue ray; lack of cables, I chased out the walls and ran speaker cable under the floor for my old system so I didnt have to see unsightly speaker wire, this one connects the subwoofer and any rear speakers by blue tooth. It comes with wall brackets to fix it under the TV, you then have the choice of connecting it to the tv by bluetooth, optical or HDMI. Ive go with the HDMI ARC connection and used the HDMI input to connect an XBOX which enables the picture from the XBOX to be fed back to the TV.
I dont have it connected to my Samsung TV which is an older Model I am connecting it to an LG and it sounds great however, If you have a Samsung TV with Q Symphony it will also coordinate with TV speakers, which seems like a bonus for a richer soundscape.
I've got it hung on the brackets under the TV, I have the HDMI cable between them hidden in trunking, I still have the problem of hiding the power cable and the cable to the Xbox/blueray. This would be less of a problem if I had a cabinet under the TV.
I would definitely recommend this soundbar I got it on a deal where you can claim £200 cash back which makes it a steal.
Its not 5 stars because there's no rear speakers but what do you expect in this price range. I will be upgrading to the Bluetooth rear speakers.
One thing to note is that this soundbar is bluetooth it will output sound from a phone etc where as the others in the range have WIFI and therefore the rear speaker options are different.

"When I eventually got it sorted it was great. I couldn't get the sound to sync with my TV box. Turns out if I connect my TV box to the soundbox rather than direct to the TV this resolves, but no-one including Samsung themselves seemed to know this.
Once set up, I wondered how I've lived without one!"
"bigger than I expected (95cm long i think) but the sound produced is awesome. connecting and setting up is easy. almost plug and play. switches on when tv comes on and switches off when you switch it off. can even be used as a bluetooth speaker. great purchase :)"
