"Design: Pros - X Stylish Matte finish and aerodynamic clean look. Easy to wipe clean and remove marks from. X This feels like a sturdy, well manufactured piece of kit. It is not fragile and can handle heavy use. Cons – X The unit is very heavy for a portable wireless speaker (nearly 2kg!). I wouldn’t really want to carry this around with me on an outing. Function: Pros – X The app is fab and available on both android and iOS devices. From here you can change nearly all the settings, including lighting options (personalised options, in time to beat of songs on/off and off completely can be done in app), whether to connect via AUX or Bluetooth to a device, dual (single stereo) or multi-mode to connect multiple speakers at once, sound boost on/off, exact battery % plus need to charge notification, auto shut off on/off, beep sounds on/off. X Connectivity is quick and easy, it reliably stays connected without needing reconnection during use. X The buttons are sensitive enough to easily raise the volume or pause/play from the device. X Battery light is helpful and clearly visually shows battery health. It shows green when battery is greater than or equal to 70%, amber when between 69% and 10% and red when less than 10%. X Music sound is true and never tinny or distorted. This makes for a really clear and crisp sound. X Sound boost is excellent for when you’re outside or somewhere with a lot of ambient noise but still need to be able to hear the music well. X The charge is quick and easy through a USB cable and the battery is extremely long lasting. Cons – X Sometimes my connection seemingly glitches and there are pauses in my songs. It doesn’t happen often but I have noticed it a few times while using the unit. The issue is not with my phone, as my Bluetooth earbuds never have this problem. X I have to reconnect to the speaker Bluetooth as if it’s a new device every time a use it. X Sadly there are no lights on the volume up/down or pay/pause buttons, so in low light it is harder to differentiate, however the volume up button does have a small raised dot to help you feel it. X There is a low battery mode (once battery is below 10%) which is not an issue in and of itself but the music automatically won’t play above a certain volume & this cannot be manually overridden. X It would be great if the LG app could pair with music streaming apps but it seems to only be able to play and create playlists from music stored directly on your phone. "

"Compact format with a simple but elegant design, the material is good quality and wont show up scratches as much as metal speaker would. The navy blue colour also makes a nice alternative from standard black audio equipment. The base is flat so it sits stable on any surface and its diameter makes its fairly easy for an adult's hand to grip and pick up. The subtle coloured lights on the speakers which can also be synced so they flash differently according to the beat of the music, add to its cool design and will not overly drain the battery either. The tapered positioning of the round speakers on the edge of the LG Xboom along with the front panel speakers, help to give it its excellent surround sound quality. The sound boost button definitely also gives you that depth in the sound perfect for parties or in larger rooms etc. The speaker is provided with an usbc cable with is useful as if misplaced will still be easy to recharge with most standard phone chargers which means you can take it in the car and charge it on the go for example if needed. Likewise if you run out of phone charge you can recharge off the speaker which is a great little bonus. Charging time at home is approx 1 hour for about 7 hours of moderate sound which is ample time if you are out and about or just moving the speaker around the house. The speaker is really simple to set up. Once turned on the blue tooth pairing function is automatically switched on so it can be connected quickly. The function bar on the top provides you with the main quick controls you need such as on/off, volume control, sound boost and pause. There is also a little light by a battery icon which turns on which shows you when the speaker is on charge. One improvement I would make on this is that it would be useful if it flashed to show you when the speaker is running low on battery life so you could recharge in time. The speaker is quite weighty but gives it its feeling of sturdiness and not a problem if you do not move it around a lot but for it to be truly portable then it being a few pounds lighter would help and also a soft case to protect it would be an advantage. Priced at around 150GBP its not the cheapest portable speaker on the market but having tried Beats Pill XL, JB Pulse 3 this one is overall my favorite for design and sound quality. "

"It was whilst I was unboxing the LG XBOOM Go PL7 that I soon realised that this is a pretty serious piece of kit. Having only ever had prior experience of a Bluetooth speaker the size of a watch box, the sturdy build and weight of the XBOOM highlighted that this was not just any little speaker but a behemoth in size and sound quality.
The speaker is great for playing music for when guests are over, the speaker fills the room easily and I never needed to push the volume to the highest levels when indoors. I felt that the bass was deep and I could enjoy crisp vocals or the soothing instrumentals regardless of the genre I was listening to.
I used it in the bathroom for a soundtrack to a calming bath and catching up on an online podcast, the kitchen for when I was preparing food for a gathering and of course out at a friend’s garden BBQ where the additional sound boost setting really livened up the atmosphere.
My speaker lasted a week before I needed to charge it which I felt was excellent as I was using it for several hours on a daily basis during weekdays working from home. The charging speed was very good, I normally charged the unit overnight so this was not an issue. I also liked the ability to switch the colour rings on and off as well as being able to change the colours via the app. The app was easy to set up but I found that I only really used my music source and Bluetooth settings via mobile directly so the app for me was an additional bonus and not a prerequisite.
Overall, I love the sound quality and how powerful the speaker is in terms of clarity of sound, volume and depth. I did think that it is quite bulky in terms of weight and so I would really tend to use it in one household for gatherings or parties. It's not so cumbersome that I would just keep it in one room and having to share it with my partner can be tricky as we are always looking to listen to our own music with it! "

"I was very excited to try the LG XBOOM Go PL7 speaker. I was looking for a small, portable speaker that could be used outside but didn’t sacrifice sound and power. This did not disappoint!
The speaker has a soft touch and is very stylish. It is quite heavy which screams quality. The initial setup was easy and the app was very user friends allowing you to control / change the lighting amongst the music.
I intended to use this speaker outside for parties and was really impressed by the mood lighting offered. All my guests commented the added touch and atmosphere it gave. The bass itself was powerful and reached the full garden without being on full volume.
It lasted all day and night without needing charging which can be a real pain at parties, this was a massive plus for me.
Not only that, I was able to use it as a replacement soundbar. I intend to purchase another PL7 to link up to create the true party! I would absolutely recommend this speaker to a wide range of people whether its music fanatics, party goers or even providing that extra cinema feel to a night in!

"I wanted a compact, portable, high quality solution that would give me adequate sound production with the ability to be used outdoors. The LG Xboom Go PL7 hit all the requirements, while still having that modern, sleek feel.
Upon unboxing I was really impressed with how sleek the speaker looked. It was a lot heavier than I expected but this can only be presumed with a speaker of such quality sound output.
The sound reproduction is fantastic and I was very impressed with powerful the bass was and how intense the woofers vibrated with the beat.
Setup is straightforward and within a minute of firing up the speaker I had it connected to my iPhone via Bluetooth. The App is easy to use and I had no issues with connecting to the speaker. Pressing the play button allowed me to voice commands via Siri which was a bonus.
I absolutely love the RGB LED lighting which syncs with the beat – it really does set the mood and provide the party atmosphere I desire!
I connected the speaker via the AUX port and have been enjoying using this as a soundbar replacement. It is such an improvement over my standard TV speakers. The battery life last all day and night which was an important factor to me.
When using the speakers outdoors, I have been able to enjoy all my music and audiobooks over the sound of ambient traffic. One thing I am really happy with is the fact it is water resistant as the weather can change at the drop of a hat in the UK!
Overall, this speaker provides a fantastic output quality and I will be buying another to pair up with it to provide an even bigger sound! I highly recommend this for anyone wanting a portable speaker with a big boom!

This LG speaker have very good sound. The bluetooth option makes it easy, you can connect to any phone.It is perfect for a party. The Light in this speaker is so amazing , changing to the beat of the music. I think is good point have application on the iPhone , I can control on the phone changing light, adjust the volume. The battery is very durable. The battery lasts over 24 hours for a Very long time. I recommend this product is so value for money!!!!!!!!! "
