"I’m adding a second review to update my first impressions. Yes, out of the box this tumble dryer made a tremendous amount of noise, like a pair of trainers being tossed around in the drum. Whilst the instructions don’t indicate this machine may need a run-in period, searching on the internet I found that the advice is that it does. And indeed after 4 or 5 programs it has definitely calmed down and is no longer banging.
The fit and finish is definitely what you might describe as economical, but this is somewhat cutting edge technology in a budget machine - so it’s understandable. Yes, it takes longer to dry than a vent or condenser dryer but the point here is efficiency. And it does have rapid dry programmes, but I haven’t tried them.
I’m actually torn between 4 or 5 stars, because of the finish. You get what you pay for, and so if it provides the value of its price adequately it probably ought to have 5.

"Got this to replace a burned out AEG condenser dryer that was reliable and well built until it gave up the ghost.
First impressions of the Hoover aren’t amazing. There’s another review here that complains of a clattering and I too experience that. It is quiet when empty but putting in some wet towels and they clatter against the drum as it turns. Not an issue for us as the unit is in our basement but this needs to be a consideration if you intend to place it in a high traffic area. "

"In general is good if you don’t count the noise
If you have it in your flat you wont be able to sleep while the machine is working, even the neighbours below us can not sleep
On the papers is saying that it’s making 66db noise but the noise is reaching 85db
It’s insane loud
Also when extra dry function is on it’s taking ages till the clothes are dry
So if you planing to keep the machine in your house or flat I HIGHLY DO NOT recommend it if you don’t plane to keep it in the shed "

"This is the first heat pump tumble dryer we've had, which we chose as we want to use less energy and save money. I'm pleased to say it does both impressively! It's also very quiet, east to use, easy to maintain, and dries our laundry perfectly. We especially like the drainer being on the door -- so easy to access and empty! Although I've now connected the drain pipe to the same drain pipe as the washing machine, so no more emptying the drainer!
All in all, this is an excellent product and we would highly recommend it."
