Samsung TV worth the wait.

"Received the Samsung UE43TU8500 TV on the 9th February 21.

My previous TV was a Samsung, and although having to wait a little while for delivery , as the demand has been so great, I was not disappointed when I received it. Great looking TV, excellent colour and sound, and really easy to set up. I am delighted with the set and would recommend this particular TV to anyone. Really deserving of 5 stars.

Avoid, unless you like looking at the apps list!

"The Home Screen with apps list takes up half the screen with a massive black box obscuring the bottom half of the picture and appears every time a button such as the programme guide is pressed. It doesn’t disappear on its own and requires the return or exit button to be pressed to get rid of it. Except sometimes it doesn’t appear at all after exiting the guide! What!? That says faulty to me but Samsung have decided that this is okay, not faulty, and the correct operation for this model. Believe me, you will very soon get fed up with this action! The remote is a cheap nasty shocker with an all but useless ‘smart remote’ included as well that pretty much only changes the channels up or down (no numbers on it!). The picture is no better than anything else in any manufacturers 4K range (bought it when it was still possible to go in shops last September) and takes a lot of tinkering to get it acceptable on every station, especially those showing older content. I’ve given it nearly 6 months and am now looking to replace it. We’ve got a 3yr old 32” Samsung tv that is superior in every way, including a much better quality remote. AO have spent a lot of time and effort trying to sort this out but unfortunately they have to defer to Samsung (TV can be accessed remotely by their engineers, which it has been twice) who simply can’t see the problem with blacking out half the screen every time you look at the guide or change a setting or source, until you remove it yourself with the remote. A nasty product that isn’t cheap but can probably be bettered by Samsung’s other products at less cost, not to mention LG, Sony etc. Avoid or be disappointed."
