Great dishwasher

"I love it! Our faithful old dishwasher finally gave up the ghost during lockdown and the thought of having to buy a new one online without being able to physically see it in store first stressed us out because it’s a lot of money to waste if we made the wrong decision!

We definitely made the right decision! This Smeg dishwasher looks really smart and minimalist from the outside. It’s like a tardis inside. It took me a while to get used to the best way to load it because the layout is different from our old one, but now I’ve got the hang of it I can fit so much more in to it than the one we had before!

I love the cutlery drawer. I wasn’t sure at first as it seems a bit of a faff to start with but once you get used to it, it saves time. All the cutlery comes out clean and if you load it so that all the tea spoons are together, all the knives are together etc, it saves time when unloading as you can just grab a handful of teaspoons together to put them back in the drawer; you don’t have to spend time separating them from the forks.

The dishwasher feels really sturdy and well made for the price of it.

The height of the drawers is easy to adjust. I had to put the middle drawer up a bit to fit my plates in the bottom drawer, but my plates are pretty big. Even though it’s not on the lowest setting, I can still fit all our glasses, measuring jugs etc in to the middle drawer no problem, as everything about this dishwasher is adjustable! On the odd occasion that I need to wash really tall wine glasses I can just slide half the cutlery drawer underneath the other half and it gives me more height on the middle drawer.

It has a program for more efficient drying which automatically opens the door at the end of the wash to allow air to circulate. It made me jump the first time it popped open on its own, but it does mean everything comes out nice and dry!

The only downside I would say is that it’s slightly noisier than our old one on a normal wash. It’s still not overly loud, and it does have a silent mode, I just haven’t used that yet.

The only thing that this doesn’t have compared to far more expensive ones that we considered, is that it doesn’t project the time remaining on to the floor, so you just have to wait until the door pops open to know that it’s finished the cycle, (as there is no visible display on the outside) but that’s really not a problem!"

Very pleased

"It has a smart clean minimalist look. Easy to operate, instructions are simple for this and the initial set up i.e. water hardness & rinse aid. We opted for this dishwasher due to the energy and water efficiency ratings.

Downside. It's not quite as internally spacious as our previous dishwasher. You can't see what stage the wash is at due to all the indicators being on the top of the door. "

Excellent overall

"We’ve had this dishwasher for a week now. Still learning how to stack so that everything cleans properly and which is the best setting. Plus side - looks fab, very streamlined; really quiet; we like the cutlery tray. Minus - struggling to find the right program that isn’t 4 hrs long. Overall though we really like it. "

Should have tested it out first at a shop. Lesson learned.

"The middle rack isn't much use for us on anything but 1 height setting, as any higher and you can't fit hi-ball glasses on it, and any lower we can't fit plates on the lower rack. Even on the lowest setting, the cutlery rack/tray (at the top) doesn't fit with hi-ball glasses, we've had to remove it all together and just use the cutlery caddy on the bottom rack. The only other problem is that you have to squat down and look through the crack at the top to see if the wash has finished as there's no visible 'running' lamp, though this may have been an intentional feature to limit light pollution or aid 'sleekness'. Other than that it seems to work well. Next time I buy a dish washer I'm going to take my biggest plate and my tallest glass to a shop and test it out first!"
