"I was aware that this product is a couple of years old and has been superseded by newer models, hence the lower price. For a Direct Drive machine with some basic smart functionality, you can't go wrong.
It's quiet (that's the Direct Drive) and very energy efficient. Compared to my previous 1400 spin machine, it seems to dry slightly better.
Smart functionality is borderline useful – it’s NFC only meaning you can download extra programmes via the phone app to the machine as well as do basic diagnosis for an engineer. This could do with improvement as the app doesn’t tell you what a programme consists of (there’s just a descriptive sentence). So you have to download to machine to see what it has planned. You also can’t create your own.
I’m aware of more expensive LG models where they have wifi so you can get alerts to your phone but this machine is programmes and error handling only. No big thing considering the newer models are typically much more expensive.
Pros – quiet, large capacity, efficient, solid build, easy to use.
Cons – tinted glass (handy if it’s viewable from your living space, but not handy to see if cycle is complete, and besides a one-time jingle, there’s no other complete indictor).
The machine does a little ‘weighing jiggle’ to assess your load to predict the time. When using a delay function, this is disruptive if you use a liquid detergent in a dosing ball – it will jiggle you detergent over the clothes it’s not going to wet for hours. The workaround is to let it do its jiggle, then pause and add the detergent and resume. A small gripe really.

"I bought this machine just before Christmas. It was love at first sight, it is a very attractive washing machine, proud to have it in my kitchen. It is the easiest machine to operate and it can be linked to your phone to operate at a whim.
When in washing mode, it's very quiet and smooth running. The capacity is ideal for a large or medium family as it senses the load and cleans beautifully every time. If every machine in the home was as fantastic as this machine, housework would be a breeze."

"So far happy but its only been one month its not as quiet as some people suggest and does vibrate a bit when spinning and i have had some washes not get stains out even on a long wash but options to change spin speed and temperature are available on some settings so maybe i need to play around a bit more with them the large drum is nice but even thought the door portal is very large the actual portal is not but overall it seems fine for day to day washes and i have noticed clothes come out less creased than my previous machine so overall good but far from perfect ."
