I expected to get a lot of earache about my choice of an induction hob.

"Purchased to replace an older but expensive German made gas hob. My wife wanted to replace with a new gas hob, which I was totally against on safety grounds, so I expected to get a lot of earache about my choice of an induction hob.

Well, here's a turn up for the books: not only does she absolutely love the stylish looks of this Hisense, she says it's far and away the best and most controllable hob she's ever used - and we've tried most types over the years. The Hisense controls are very accurate yet simple to use and the Rapid Boil option is faster than our electric kettle! As the hob surface itself does not get particularly hot it's also very easy to keep clean, requiring no more than a quick wipe down with a damp cloth.

Useful note: we were going to buy a hob converter plate for some of our older pans but, after a bit of experimentation and having read the mixed reviews about how very hot the converter gets right on top of the glass surface, we've now decided not to risk it and have simply upgraded the couple of older pans that don't work on induction.

Phew - not often I get off Scot free and even get praised for my good choices!

Great value for money!

"Very pleased with the product. Great design and look. Performance of the hob is outstanding. Induction hobs boils a large amount of water in a few minutes, which makes the cooking time shorter than usual."
