"I purchased this Samsung sound bar to ensure its compatibility with our Samsung tv. I plugged in the sound bar via an optical cable to the tv and switched them both on and was immediately struck by the lack of bass, don’t get me wrong I’m no bass head But was expecting much much more compared to my son’s much cheaper sound bar. The tone is fine for speech but I haven’t found it immersive when watching a movie unless you turn up the volume to an unreasonable level to be able to enjoy it. Had this been for the living room I would have returned it but for the bedroom we decided the clarity of speech and mid tones good enough for what we need.
In conclusion we bought the same brand as out tv to ensure compatibility and knowing Samsung would be reliable but there are other brands at lower cost offering better all round sound experience (even with the bass turned to max)."
