"The door is not easily reversible. You need to drill holes very accurately with a 3.8mm drill bit. 4mm and the screws will not hold tight (I test drilled another piece of metal first to get the right drill bit size). If you get the holes even 1/2 mm out the doors will not align.
After reversing the door the top fridge seal does not seal properly. There is a 2 to 3mm gap across the top between the seal and the fridge. Also the door is not aligned with the top of the fridge with a 1mm gap one side and 6 on the other which look rubbish.
AO helpful in trying to resolve problems with Hotpoint.
We now have to wait for 3 different door reversal kits to arrive from Hotpoint (5 days) and try those to see if it will make seal work.
I not 100% convinced these kits will make a difference to the seal as I think the holes for the pin in the top left are positioned differently from the hole on the RHS (manufacturing error). May be a thicker door seal would solve the problem? If there are different size spaces in the kits it may help poor the door alignment.
So it will be 7 days or so after delivery and many hours of messing about that we may be able to use this Hotpoint Fridge Freezer.
The 1* relates to the product NOT to AO, 1 because can't give it zero.
I understand that you need to drill holes to reverse doors on all similar Hotpoint products. As Hotpoint, Indesit and Whirlpool are related companies you may need to check those makes carefully and ask the question before buying one you need to reverse the doors on.
Hope this reviews saves someone from all the hassle we having.
