"Well, here's why I gave it 3 stars. Firstly the picture quality is crisp and is decent in moderate light light levels with adequate viewing angles, however in a dark room the blacks appear slightly grey.
Leading me on the local area dimming feature which is not very effective. There are noticeable vertical gradations as the back light is activated because they're segmented in vertical panels spanning top to bottom. Higher end models have a greater number of back-lit panels which should in theory give a truer more localized dimming effect resulting in better black effects with less comprised brightness.
Aside from this the remote a user interface is brilliant and the sound is better than I'd expected.
The price on this model has dropped considerably which makes it a very good buy indeed for £599.

"Although I haven't played with the TV much yet, it was easy to set up, with a picture that was clear and surprisingly good sound considering I was using the TV's speakers.
Headphone socket was a major plus to enable plugging into an analogue sound system at a later date.
Picture was particularly good when dealing with HD/UHD content; as with all these newer technologies, the better input you give them the better the result.
All in all very pleased."
