"Initially we wanted to buy a under counter freezer to fill a small cupboard located under our stairs. The idea of a second freezer was to store all our excess produce from the allotment. We had investigated this at the start of the year, then Covid started and no freezers were available.
Post lockdown we visited both John Lewis and Curry’s, online and in shop, and we’re terribly disappointed in selection available and product design. My advice do not buy without looking, we almost did and very disappointed when we saw for real. A lot of money (£400-£500 waisted).
It was only by chance that we opened a chest freezer by mistake and had that eureka moment and swapped from under counter to chest design.
Throughout late July into August 2020, I checked AI, John Lewis and curry’s websites. Updates from curry’s were very negative.
As soon as this one became available we brought straight away. Dimensions ticked all the boxes and we an air gap of 10 cm all the way around and it has a flame retardant back. I felt this was important considering where the freezer was stored. For added security I have added a smoke alarm. Hopefully never needed. Lid opens easily and stays open whilst you fill or search. Good light when open. We have added a light to the cupboard as well. The lead is long enough with spare. I had to have a plug put in this space, but still plenty of excess lead. One basket was provided. We use this to store anything new before transferring to the main compartment
It’s light weight I was able to pick it up from the front door, unpackaged it and move it 10 metres, through the cupboard door way, turn through 90’ and position with ease.
It has 107 litres of storage, my wish list was 90+ litres, so bonus. Very quiet, you hear the odd occasional hum, but you have to really listen for it, without any other background noise.
Now early September 2020, already half full as we to continue to harvest"

"Lovely neat little freezer. I though it looked a bit small when it was delivered. But I needn’t have worried, it holds loads. Tray at the top really handy for items used daily. Very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend."
