Looks good at first sight

"As far as I can tell, the cooker performs as expected, it has a good grill, which is a definite improvement over my previous cooker, and the small oven should reduce my cooking costs over time. One problem was that there was a defective burner knob when delivered, I am in contact with Beko about this as I write, and they have promised to send a replacement.."

Not a true oven temperature.

"The cooker looks good but the oven temperature bears no resemblance to the number selected. I'm waiting for an oven thermometer to check the temperature but, so far, when I've wanted to cook anything at Gas mark 6 I've had to set the thermostat at 7 and a half. It's certainly taking some getting used to. I wouldn't recommend this cooker."

Excellent product good price

"This oven is exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't complain about the price. Very happy that the top is not only a grill but a smaller oven "

Nicely designed 50cm compact

"I bought this cooker for my elderly father in law because it has a couple of features that were important for us.

Although he is 92, and still lives alone, he is getting very forgetful and has managed to set fire to his two previous cookers! Even the microwaves aren't safe: he's on his 4th one of those!

Ideally, we were looking for a gad cooker with control panel lock to prevent him from using it (we now do all his cooking for him). Unfortunately, the only cookers with control panel locks in 50cm were electric - we decided against electric as the elements stay hot for much longer after use on some of them so a bigger burn hazard and not good if he puts his plastic tray ontop after eating.

So we decided on this one, because unlike his previous two cookers which were battery opperated ignition system, this one has a mains power. So instead of having to remove a fiddly little battery right at the bottom after every use, we can simply shut the power off on a hidden plug switch in his sink cupboard which he cant find. Also, the mains operates the oven light which we leave on as a failsafe reminder to switch the power off after we leave - works a treat!

The second feature we really like, is the grill. It's ontop of the main oven, and unlike his previous cooker, it also works as an oven which heats up much faster than a large main oven. Since he eats small meals nowadays, this saves a lot of power and time.

All in all, this is a very nicely made little cooker. The controls are very nice feeling, and precise heat control is easy. The doors are also nice and smooth to operate, and don't feel cheap like on some cookers in this price range. Also, the grill has a safety feature I have not seen on other cookers - it switches itself off if you don't have the door open. More fire prevention features!

Obviously, it also has the same flame out features where it shuts the gas off if flame blows out. I think these are a legal minimum safety requirement now.

Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a quality cooker at a reasonable price. If I had to be picky and criticise something, the top oven / grill does not have an internal light - only the bottom oven does, but that is being picky!"

Beko 50cm Gas Cooker

"Great value for money as it has the benefit of 2 ovens where the top oven also doubles up as a grill. Would recommend especially where space is limited to the narrow 50cm."
