Frustrated by drying feature

"I love the capacity of this machine. My previous machine was 6kg.

It looks great but feels abit cheaply made.

I have no plans to use the phone app, it seems like a pointless gimmick to me.

I suppose it is a little bit noisy, but it really doesn't bother me.

The bit that I find VERY annoying is the set drying times. I want to be able to open the door and check the progress of the drying, as you do with a regular tumble dryer, or at least set my own time.

2 hours is the shortest drying setting available and this doesn't seem to adjust according to the weight of the clothes. Sometimes I like to pop something dry in the tumble with some dryer balls for 15 mins to knock the creases out, but can't do that with this machine, which makes me wish I'd just bought a separate washing machine and dryer. Having set drying times also doesn't seem very energy efficient to me and I am nervous to use the high setting incase my clothes get frazzled.

So I don't really think this item is good value for money and can not recommend, as I will probably be purchasing a separate dryer, which really defeats the purpose of buying this machine. :-("

The perfect washer/dryer for a family

"I've never had a dryer before as I've simply not had the space for a washer and a dryer separately. I didn't think of getting a combination one, so when AO gave me this opportunity I was keen to try it out and review it for you all.

First impressions when you look at it, it's finished in a gross black with the chrome door, it looks very modern and stylish. It looks great with my other black applicances.

When I first looked at all the dials on the front and the instructions I thought it looked a little complicated. However once I had used it two or three times I found it very straight forward. I like how you chose a washer or dryer option and then alter it to fit your required temperature, spin speed or dryness. The door I find a little tricky to squeeze open but that may be due to my very long finger nails.

The 9kg wash capacity is much better. I had a 6kg previously and I am finding this a lot better. It's enabling me to do less washes saving me time and energy. The clothes come out smelling much fresher than my previous one. Whether using the washer or dryer it's not too noisey. I would recommend it for any family that had limited kitchen space.

I will be keen to download the app and give that a try once it becomes available for my phone. "

Lots to love... but!

"Hoover are clearly looking to make a statement with this washer/dryer both in terms of design and functionality. The design is bold – mine is black and silver, but the finish feels a little cheap and plastic. However, in terms of functionality the Dynamic Next washer dryer certainly has an abundance of features. This machine isn’t for anyone who just wants a few simple programmes. It aims to personalise your washing and drying, and I was impressed with the range of programmes found on the app. It certainly appeals to the gadget minded. With an android NFC capable phone you can download the Hoover Wizard app. The app has a user-friendly interface and gives you a wealth of additional programmes: such as an anti-dust mite, sportswear, stain remover, and even a cuddly toy programme.

The Dynamic Next washes really well, and is extremely economical with standard programmes including a 20°C and a choice of rapid washes from as little as 14 mins, which is great when you need that item in a rush. Low energy is a strong feature of this washer/dryer and has the benefit of an active steam function. Steam uses less water and reduces the need for detergent, in addition to sanitising. However, the steam refresh programme, which should steam out the creases in an item of clothing so that it is ready to wear again, left my clothes ringing wet.

The ‘One Touch’ feature is another key aspect to the Dynamic Next. This not only adds additional programmes to the machine from the app, but also has a clever care option that includes a special auto hygiene cycle and a diagnostic cycle intelligently aiming to extend the life of the machine. However, the voice coach option on the app I found to be absolutely useless. The voice coach should guide you to the ideal cycle, but despite numerous efforts, I just kept getting a message saying ‘ no programme found that matches your request.’ I’m happy not to use this feature, but the most annoying issue is the noise. The wash cycle is louder than any washing machine I’ve had before, and the drying is extremely noisy, so be warned if you live in a flat.

Once you set your wash, you have lots of options to change the temperature, spin speed, or dry settings of the wash. There are three dry options and you can set the cycle to automatically dry once the wash has finished. Drying can leave clothes a little damp even on the extra dry setting. There is also a delay option and a lock setting. KG mode is an intelligent sensor that will weigh the laundry and then it’ll adjust both the amount of water and electricity consumption accordingly- so should save you some money. It only works on some programmes and you’ll see the indicator light to show you when it is in action. I would have liked some more detail in Hoover’s manual, which is quite basic and doesn’t, for example, explain if to use detergent in the steam cycles.

Overall, if you can put up with the noise and not worried about a voice coach, then there are still many other features going for the Dynamic Next. It cleaned my clothes well and gave me a wide selection of programmes using the app, although the choice could be overwhelming for some. And you can relax knowing that you are saving money with all the low energy options."

A brilliant machine which manages a family's washing and drying problems.

"I was dubious at first about a washer/drier. I thought it would be complicated, not energy efficient and fussy. I was wrong. You load it, click on the setting, add another button function if you want to dry, and forget about it.

When I took the clothes out, they were slightly damo so I put it on the dry setting to make sure they were perfectly dry. I need to work out how to make sure they come out properly dry for the next time. It did however, give me the opportunity to take out thr thin clothes and put the thick ones back in to dry.

The functionality of the machine is brilliant and foolproof. It's very state of the art looking too. "
