"I am lucky enough never to know life without a dishwasher and have experience of many different models and manufacturers including premium German brands and this Hotpoint doesn't disappoint.
First of all it looks very stylish, far better than the pictures I've seen on the internet. I have always had white appliances, but this stainless steel dishwasher blended into my kitchen far better than the white model it replaced. The build quality seems good and the door in particular feels very solid.
I had saved up a full load of dirty dishes, cutlery, mugs and glassware to test the performance of this dishwasher for my Youtube demonstration video and there was plenty of dried on food to give it a real test. For my first wash I selected the intensive programme and used one of the Fairy dishwasher tablets that were supplied with the machine. The results were very impressive with not a hint of food debris left on anything and part from a few drops here and there, the load was dry.
After the initial load, I decided to use my regular brand of eco friendly dishwasher tabs and washed a second load using the standard programme which runs at a lower temperature than the intensive one. Again, I had similar results, so I knew that it was the effectiveness of the dishwasher and not the type of detergent I used. I have yet to try the eco programme, but I would be very surprised if the results weren't as good.
This dishwasher has a special setting that optimises the performance when using three in one tablets, but unfortunately it forgets the setting when you turn it off, so you have to remember to switch it on every time, but that's my only niggle with this machine.
All in all I have been pleasantly surprised by this Hotpoint dishwasher. It washes and dries perfectly and is pretty quiet too. It's a big thumbs up from me."
