Simply brilliant!

"Bought this for our home about a month ago and my family absolutely love it! Even my 4 year old is impressed with the fact that she can leave me “notes” on the screen on days when I am not around to put her to bed! Looks brilliant and holds a lot. Perfect for our family of 5!"

Fairly smart

"I love the new fridge freezer, although some of the features don’t seem to work as well as you would hope. Can’t seem to watch tv on it as a mirror image of our Samsung tv. Not able to install apps on it, which would of been a very helpful feature. Other than that it’s fantastic, love the fridge on top of the freezer. Also crushed ice comes in handy for cocktails ??"

TIMES THEY ARE 'A CHANGING

"There was pandemonium in the kitchen. The appliances had found out the Lady of the house was going to replace one of them. The "chosen one" would be going to the scrap-heap never to give service again. They were all about the same age installed when the previous owner had had a new fitted kitchen.

The washing-up machine was very confident. The new owners didnt use him very much as they preferred to wash up as they went along and he couldnt see many improvements in the newer models.

The micro-wave thought he was top dog. Apart from something he'd heard about adding steam he thought he was indespensible. The three occupants of the house worked full time and especially in the working week would select their evening meal from the freezer. Recommended times for oven cooking from frozen were usually 30 to 45 minutes plus the time the oven needed to reach temperature, so with one member of the family usually late the microwave was the obvious choice.

Both the ovens with grills were fan assisted and quality products and matched the microwave so they couldnt see the owner buying three new appliances or having a mis-match.

And the hob? He was the most confident. He'd only been replaced a few months ago after the owner accidently smashed his predecessor's glas top.

All these appliances were arguing amoung themselves that apart from the washing up machine, they were the most important one. Each one thought the home couldn't run without them.

Quietly the fridge freezer was shivering with fear. When he was purchased American style fridge freezers were only for the well-off. He was a real American and then the biggest beast in the white-goods showroom. He'd heard the owners arguing over his future. The man of the house loved him. He liked American style engineering the fact that virtually every part of him could be dismantled and repaired. He nick-named him The Beast. The owner had replaced his thermostat and heating element to melt the ice in the bottom of the freezer. He couldn't see how a new model could do anything better. There had been a few sniggers from the other appliances that the Beast had become slightly incontinent and sometimes there were small puddles on the kitchen floor in the morning. But the lady of the house had been researching newer models. The Beast overheard incredible claims about what a new Samsung model could do.

Then it was D-day. The Dreaded day they named it. Despite the fact that the others all thought the Beast was a bit OTT, a big American "in your face" character, many a tear was shed when the delivery men barrowed him away.

But wow, the lady of the house wasn't exaggerating.

First of all Sammy had a huge tablet style screen on his right hand door 685 mm High and 310 mm wide. This constantly showed the time and date and weather and automatically lit up when anyone went near. It could give all sorts of useful information and connect to radio stations for music and news. Family photographs coould be displayed on the screen and it was so much easier to read than a tablet or mobile.

Then there was the inside. The Samsung Engineers had taken so many of the negative features of the Beast's era and brilliantly re-designed the layout. There were four doors. The top two gave access to the fridge facility with the ice maker and chilled water in the traditional position on the left so didn't intrude into the freezer space. The fridge shelves were adjustable, not just sliding in at diferent heights but the shelves themselves were flaps that could be opened upwards to stand tall items like two litre lemonade and wine bottles upright and it was so easy to change these combinations if demand changed in the future. There were two big draws for fruit and veg below the shelves. All the fittings and the lining spelt quality.

The two bottom doors gave access to the freezer with see-through draws to house frozen food. Gone were the days of pulling out piles of frozen packages to find that illusive bag of frozen peas. Sammy stood 1820 mm high and 951 mm wide very similar to the American Best but somehow there was so much more space inside. His heart (compressor) was guaranteed for ten years and he was so quiet the others couldnt always tell if it was working.

The other appliances were absolutely stunned ! Nobody said a word until the humans had retired to bed. But then the arguments started. They were intelligent beings and what the Samsung showed them was how much technology in their age had remained unchanged. Sammy was a step change.

The final straw came from the hob. "Did you know" he said, "that the owner can now go to the supermarket and look inside the fridge freezer on her phone to see what she needs to buy?" There was a stunned silence. Secretly each one had similar thoughts - what if the Samsung engineers designed a new model in my range - id be the next departure. TIMES THEY ARE 'A CHANGING

Best. Fridge. Ever!

"We love this fridge! The screen and the interactive features are fabulous, but it's way more than just a tech gimmick. The layout of the fridge and freezer means we can get loads more stuff in it than our previous model (LG) even though externally it's the same size. The option to change one of the freezer units into a fridge is brilliant as well - especially for bbq food storage and it will make Christmas dinner loads easier as well.

Ice maker is rubbish

"bought this as our actual American fridge was getting old, by comparison the ice maker is rubbish, its slow and cant keep up with our relatively low demand.

It also keeps telling us that the door has been opened in the middle of the night, we must have ghosts.

If we had known that you cannot down load other apps we wouldn't have bought the thing.

A big disappointment."

American Heaven

"This fridge is a dream, runs cool, quiet it has plenty of room and if you don't have much frozen food the flex compartment is great for drinks, ice cream or just keeping fresh meat away from your other goods. Looks amazing in the kitchen and the tablet on it is a very welcome addition to the kitchen with it's calendar, music, shopping list and much more. Can't praise it enough"
