Good update of a successful appliance

"Replacing an 8 year old Siemens induction hob. Very similar except new control system and more flexible ways of using the surface. Works well. "

Pleasantly surprised

"Having read some negative reviews of this Hob on other websites I was a bit sceptical about ordering one. Having had NEFF kitchen products in the past that lasted many years I went with my gut instincts. Glad I did, great product and very versatile features. The issues some people reported with fault codes were most likely incorrect wiring connection. "

Nice item

"AO delivery what I ordered when they said with food coma as for the item.. Very pleasing to the eye but takes some getting used to the single control for all jobs but then it’s great"

Very stylish

"Bought as a replacement as cracked my previous hob. This updated model is very stylish. Heats up quickly and gives a much larger surface area to cook on, no longer have to jiggle pans around to make contact with heat element!

Simple to fit just plugged into existing connection.Excellent ordering & delivery service from AO.com

Disappointing

"I bought this just under 3 years ago - it was a difficult decision as it was very expensive. But I love cooking and wanted a wider than many other models due to not wanting to also replace a long maple worktop, which had a large hole from previous hob.

It has been playing up a bit right from the start - a bit temperamental re switching on. However, I though it was due to various family members different ways to turning on off, felt it helped a bit if any pan already on hob was moved off before turning on, etc. Frustrating to say the least, my husband restrained frustrated as I made decision for big spend.

Ongoing it has been irregular in how much of the base of a pan heats up. And it is not faulty pans or different positions, I tried all - found I needed to set it to cover the extended area, even if only less was needed, this then restricts how many pans to use at the same time. (Sorry, this is a bit detailed). I didn't call for repair as first I thought it was us getting used to induction and eventually it would work and after cooking I tended to forget. Calling someone out and not reliably being able to show what was wrong, as it was not always a problem.

Furthermore, I find it almost impossible to fry anything on a large pan - the edges don't heat up much and the middle heats up so much that the pan bends. This is particular the case for the middle one, which is intended for large pans. Everywhere it heats a square/rectangular part within the base of the pan - and funnily enough my pans are all round base. Perhaps they could give a free set of square pans with the hob when you bought it, at least you would know what you were in for when you bought it.

Right now, as it is just under 3 years old, it has stopped switching on completely. I have reset it to factory settings, I have tested that it is not childlock or similar, all light works so no fuse issue - just on/off broken. I have been offered for engineer to come out at £99 plus parts or a min. 12 months insurance deal at £15.99 per month.

For now I will buy a £30 plug in hob and cook oven meals while trying to decide to replace with some other hob. So - very disappointed."
