A well-priced, spacious Family Freezer ... with a gizmo!

"I have to admit that until now I’ve not been familiar with the Hisense brand, but this appliance was a pleasant surprise. This upright freezer is an A+ energy rating. It’s frost free which is a must for me. The Hisense multiflow air cooling system combined with Total No Frost technology, means a frost free freezer with even temperature top to bottom. I’d never again buy a freezer that has to be defrosted every few months. Such a faff.

Size wise, there's lots of storage room inside. Great if you're freezing lots of food for a family. There's just two of us, but we use the freezer a lot so this is perfect for us. The build quality looks good. The controls are hidden inside which means the outer design is very sleek and stylish. You can have a left or right opening door, whichever suits your needs. You need to fit the handle yourself when it arrives, which is very easy to do. The door needs a fair old pull to open it, but I don’t consider this a bad thing as it means a nice tight seal. I’d rather that, than one that flies open easily. There are two top compartments with coverings that lift up and push back to allow access. There’s a knack to opening these, so you need to be careful until you get used to flipping the cover up. I can see one of these breaking if someone’s too enthusiastic or impatient. A small niggle, but not enough to warrant docking a star. There’s lots of room inside for storage including two 'Large Box' drawers, perfect for those bulkier purchases like jumbo tubs of ice cream. Press the handy 'Super' button when you’re freezing more than one or two items for a faster freeze. As I mentioned in the review, super will switch off automatically if you forget to do it yourself. The nifty fill and flip ice cube dispenser is a nice little extra which I love. I imagine kids will love filling and flipping too.

The freezer is approximately 174 cm high. To give you an idea, I’m 5’2” and I can easily reach into the back of the top compartment. Storage capacity is 235 litres net.

In all honesty, I have little to criticise. I’ve knocked one star off ‘features’ as it's A+ rating not the top A+++ energy saving rating. But A+ is a perfectly decent rating of course. Also, as I understand it, some freezers have an internal light, although I've never owned a freezer with one to be honest and haven't really been bothered by lack of light in the past.

In my opinion, this Hisense Freezer represents excellent value for money. I'm very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to one and all. Thank you for checking out my review, I hope you found it useful.
