Complicated to use

"Only just had a few days to replace an old whirlpool akz446 and seems to be a good oven, but complicated to use initially.

The grill tray has no handle so you either have to buy one or use without (most people use without these days so not much of an issue, just be wary it can get hot)

You only get 1 wire shelf and have to buy another (currently £23), ideally should get two shelves (even my old whirlpool had two).

You do get a drip tray and spit holder for roasting meats.

Overall happy with the oven as fitted perfectly and can be plugged into a normal socket.

Oven reset

"Oven will occasionally show fault code F03 disguised as a sensor fault however it just requires a restart but only a Hotpoint engineer knows how to do that. After 12 months you will have to pay the call out charge just for the oven to be restarted. This isn't the only review to point that out.."

Possibly the world's worst oven

"I've been on this earth for 42 years and using ovens with a degree of success for 30. This is without doubt the worst oven I've had the misfortune to use and I spent four years in rented student accommodation. Fan or otherwise it heats unevenly front to back and top to bottom so there's always something burned and another thing uncooked. It didn't come with enough shelves, even the instructions suggest you should only use one shelf at a time. The settings are over-engineered and in just three months we've had to have an engineer out due to the oven failing on a software fault that needed a reset that could have been done over the phone. It's an absolute lemon."

Again: Grilling problems with a Hotpoint oven

"A nice oven spoiled by problems using the grill. At least this model comes with a grill pan, whereas the last Hotpoint I used didn't. (not sure how you are supposed to grill food without?) The problems is, the grill pan is such a loose fit in the slots at the side of the oven and has no stops, so when you draw it out to check the food, it just slides/drops out onto the oven door, or your feet! There is also no handle(s) supplied for holding the grill pan. Quite dangerous in my opinion. It's a pity because the oven is otherwise of good quality (although a bit 'technical' to use) and has some really good features."

Hotpoint Review

"This Hotpoint oven is fantastic with many great features. It has an easy to use control panel which is touch screen. It gives you the option of setting a timer and the oven will make a sound when the food is ready. It has the preheating function again making a sound when the oven is ready for the food to go in, this I find particularly handy. The oven came with a turnspit which looks fanastic, I haven't seen this with an oven before. It also has a self cleaning function called the 'pyro cycle' which heats the oven up to a high temperature to remove grease and dirt!! It has a child safety function and the door can be locked for safety. The oven is really quiet and has plenty of space for numerous dishes. I can't find a fault with it. Overall a fantastic oven and I would highly recommend."
