"The oven is fine, once you've figured out how it works! Our first use of it was to grill a simple cheese and ham toastie. After 45 minutes it created some stale bread so we reverted to our old toaster. Convinced it didn't work, we called for help and we were told an engineer would be with us in a couple of days. Despite being a Hotpoint engineer, he didn't know how it worked and read through our instructions and arrived at the same conclusion as we did - it didn't work. He called their tech. dept., but no reply. After further messing around he discovered the grill would work, but only with the oven door closed which meant you couldn't see how the food was grilling. He like me, agreed that it was a daft idea to try to grill toast blind, so left and promised to call me when he found out if that was working properly of not. He called later that afternoon to tell me all was well and the grill only worked with the door closed.
It's a daft idea, but if only the instructions were better and such simple things were explained?
Bottom line? The oven's okay but the instructions are rubbish!"

"Our last oven was a Hoover which had stood the test of rime teally well .
This one has surpassed my expectations.
It is quieter and much faster to reach the required temperature.
When it reaches the temperature you have set it beeps and once you have put your food in it starts a timer on the display so you can see how long your food has been cooking. In our house no one pays attention to what time they put food on so this is a bonus feature.
As said before there is a roasting spit. Great idea but will probably never be used by us.
Loads of different settings we have yet to explore but so far so good .Really pleased with our choice

"Preheats quickly. Haven't tried all the features but the automatic meat joint function worked a treat and I'm normally not a fan of auto settings. Looks very modern. Excellent oven so far. Only negative (and this is across all new clever ovens) is it can be a little complicated if you are looking for a simple turn it on type of oven. Comes with a plug so you can simply plug it it."
