"The Hotpoint gas hob arrived damaged [1] and incomplete [2]. Practically speaking I have doubts about the safety and usefulness of the diamond arrangement of the cooking outlets. The control knobs were also cheap which is not reflective of the high price. Sending back....
[1] AO are aware that DPD are not providing good service, yet they continue to use them, affecting the environment from both return visits and potentially wasted products.
[2] The hob was supposed to have a plug on it, but it did not."

"New hob looks brilliant. As others have commented, not easy to keep clean and shiny but my previous stainless steel hob wasn't easy to keep clean and shiny either.
My only criticism is that the pan supports on the two medium hobs are slightly wobbly and one has to ensure pans are well balanced before cooking. Think mthis is just a "getting to know you problem"."

"We bought this hob and after a short while the rubber seal around the large hob started to come away, we were just about out of the guarantee period and had to purchase an extended warranty from Domestic and General in order to get it fixed, it took their engineers 3 visits and an entirely new ring before the fault could be resolved, unfortunately the fault has reoccurred within 6 months and we have had to call out an engineer again, It is worth noting Domestic and General only guarantee their repairs for 30 days, it was interesting to hear from the Hotpoint engineer that this was a common fault and was the result of bad design and was caused by the expansion and contraction of the 3 different materials used in the manufacture of the ring and only seemed to affect the large ring not the smaller ones. I contacted Hotpoint and they weren't in the least interested as the hob was out of guarantee, I'm sure like many people would expect a hob to last more than 11 months but even after a repair was carried out expect that to be the end of it.
Really not impressed with this hob especially as it is priced and described as a premium product.
It really has put me off buying any Hotpoint or their sister company products, I must say I am more disappointed by the customer service from Hotpoint than I am of the hob which is saying something."

"This 4 gas burner has a sleek design and this just fits the bill perfectly for a new kitchen. I like that it has direct flame technology, so its evenly heating the pan (without hitting the edges and burning the outer edges)
The heat is dissipated evenly which mean less energy is used up as it consumes less time. So all the heat is used to warm up the pan rather than escaping like your conventional burners.
Its made of really good quality. Made with cast iron pan supports and these are very durable and strong.
Its really easy and simple to use. Speaks for itself really turn the knob up for high flame and down for low heat.
I overall like the design its very sleek and stylish. Would look good with any counter top.
Generally cleaning the parts is very easy but only downside is probably that the black glass always seems to highlight any smudges or lint residue from cloths. Best thing is a lint free dry wipe down.
And took some time getting used to the diagonal positioning of the gas compared to my four corners. But I quite like that its not your conventional type, But apart from that really happy with this item. Great quality and great unusual design and no bulky base for easy installation. "

"The hob looks sleek and well made. I love the glossy black finish and the cast iron pan holders match well aesthetically. It does show marks and dirt very easily though and I find myself rubbing and polishing the glass top every time I pass it.
The layout is different to other hobs I've used, but I like it and I'm able to access each burner easily. even when I've got four pans going at once.
The hob is very simple to use and the addition of Direct Flame Technology means my pans all heat evenly which in turn heats the food better.
The dials are simple to use and igniting the flame is easy and very quick. The flame height is altered easily with the dial in a smooth action.
The hob works well and looks good, the only issue I've found is that it does seem to get dirty and attract finger marks very easily. I'd love to see a finger resistant coating added to the glass.
