"After deliberating on a new oven we decided to purchase this one from Hotpoint. It turned up on time from AO and we could not have been happier with this oven. It has some amazing options on how to cook various things and is so easy to understand the instructions and cooks absolutely perfectly. We would highly recommend using AO for any large electrical purchase and the Hotpoint oven to whoever asks. "

This was a definite upgrade from our last oven and is simple to use if your tech minded and the clean feature is just an added bonus. Well worth the money and have no issues whatsoever."

"Since we can't really review AO on a product review, I'll only that the price was good, but matched other sites, delivery was comparatively cheap and quick and that the delivery men were friendly and helpful and provided good updates on the day of arrival.
The Hotpoint Class 6 SI6864SHIX oven came packaged in a plastic wrap with suitable (not excessive, but not minimal) padding. All of the above was easy enough to recycle without hugely effecting my fortnightly collection.
The oven came with a pre-fitted plug, and so was very easy to install, and we didn't really need an installer to do it. Ultimately two screws hold the oven into the cavity, and because we were replacing our 15 year old Whirlpool oven, the holes neatly lined up with the old holes. (Hotpoint and Whirlpool are the same company really).
The oven comes with ONE wire shelf, a roasting tin and a drip tray. All of which can be fitted into the oven shelf system. Replacement wire shelves are available from the official hotpoint spares website, but it is frustrating that it doesn't come with two wire shelves.
The oven itself was a welcome shock to the system, and is either incredible or great at showing us just how bad the old oven was. The blast of heat when you open the door is intense. Yorkshire puddings (240'C on forced air) took 7 minutes, and not 40 minutes like our old oven.
The only serious disappointment is the manual. This oven has many features - most of which I have yet to learn how to use properly. The manual is for someone who knows EXACTLY how to use the oven, but just needs reminding where the menus are. In other words, the manual has been written by the engineers who designed the oven for themselves and not the rest of us.
This does have a simple "conventional", "fan" and "Grill" option - all easily available from the left dial. There are other "modes" (ie "pizza"), but as explained above, I am not overly familiar with how to use these. One mode that I have used is "forced air" which appears to be like a "fan" option, but on turbo - and really helps to get the oven hot.
One other annoyance is that we have our oven mounted under counter - meaning that the display is just about or below hip height. The selected temperature is on the top right of the display, and is only really readable if we crouch down. Ideally this oven should be mounted so that the display is eye level. There is no reason to think that most people would mount at this height and therefore it is quite annoying to constantly crouch down to read the temperature."
