I like it

"I have always wanted a flat bed microwave since it effectively increases the space inside since square dishes are easily accommodated without them banging into the walls. I have yet to try all the auto cook facilities but I can operate manually anyway.

The one criticism I have of it is that the "buttons" need a very firm push to get a result. It is possible that anyone that does not have strong fingers might find it very difficult to use. My other microwave is also a Sharp so I know they can do it if they want to.

Very easy to clean.

It is not quiet and the fan runs on for a minute or so after cooking but if that helps to cool the machine then so be it."

Not worth it

"Seems to take longer to heat things than my old 800w machine plus overheats and shuts itself off! Very disappointed"

You get what you pay for

"Worst product ever in terms of electronic display. You can't see anything if is either time or timer or navigating through menu. Can't belive sharp would produce something like this. It will heat everything really fast but you can only use the standard factory settings on quick start... because of the display"

Good but not perfect

"It cooks evenly and you can use all of the space as you don't have to allow for the container to turn round.

I chose a flat bed microwave as they are supposed to be quieter due to not having a motor to revolve the plate and the rattle of the plate but the cooking noise is louder than my previous microwave (I tested it) and when steam has been generated it runs a very noisy heater which goes on for a long time after it has finished cooking..

The buttons need a firm pressure to activate so it may not be suitable for someone with little strength in their fingers. A thirty second button would be useful as it takes a bit of effort to press for forty/fifty seconds.

It requires a much larger clearance at the sides and top than usual (perhaps the instructions are wrong) so if you are short of space it could be a problem.

Setting the clock took a few attempts.

The handle is a bit prominent and spoils the look a little.

Brilliant product.

"This microwave is brilliant. It has a lot more room inside as it has no turn table which also makes it easier to clean. It is so great that my mum and dad and sister want one.

It even made the skin of my frozen jacket potato crispy!!!! "

Just what I was looking for

"Always wanted a flatbed microwave (no turntable) as it's easier to keep clean and doesn't cause spills or misaligned food covers due to jerky rotating movement.

The appliance looks great (somehow reminds me of Buck Rogers), has plenty of cavity space, is quite powerful (900w, meaning less cooking time), distributes heat evenly, and is fairly easy to operate with plenty of useful functions.

Only a minor bug: after setting the clock according to instructions, the clock symbol does not disappear from the display as stated in the manual (doesn't give me sleepless nights, though).

Overall verdict: exactly what I was looking for."
