"After moving house and leaving an induction hob I snatched the opportunity to replace our new home's gas hob with an induction hob again. If you've never had an induction hob I would highly recommend paying the extra for one. This price has come down dramatically since my first induction hob, they are responsive, super easy to clean and I find them quicker to cook on.
The CID740B is a perfect hob, I use the hob everyday and cannot find fault. It sits gracefully on top of the worktop, hardly noticeable. It has 4 cooking zones, which is plenty for cooking meals for family and entertaining. It's quiet and doesn't overheat even when all zones are used and the oven is on below.
It is simple to use without looking at instructions, and involving the family in cooking. It is safe for children, the child lock works a treat to stop unwanted fingers pressing buttons. Without an induction pan on a zone if you switch it on, you cannot add any heat, beating knobs and dials little hands can turn on. It has a timer but I've never found a reason to use it. It tells you when the zones are hot after cooking as the hot pans pass the heat onto the hob.
I would highly recommend induction hobs and this one in particular to anyone wanting a new hob.

"This hob has not only enhanced the look of my kitchen it has encouraged me to do more home cooking.
It is so easy to use, with its touch controls and many safety features, including pan detection and panel lock control, its both practical and value for money. With its 4 pan zones and fast heating its ideal for both busy families or singles.
I love this product just wish i'd bought one earlier."

"Looks good, easy to use and fitted straight into precut worktop cutout as replacement for broken AEG hob. Norm width sizes now are 60/80/80cm. We had to have a 70cm width - which Hotpoint Hob fitted the bill.
Lower price that other manufacturer's models. Better quality/long lasting - only time will tell. But currently, very happy with this hob."
