"This machine looks great and works really well. The short programme leaves things pretty wet but there’s also a 14 minute spin setting that sorts that out quickly. The neutral white screen would work well with any decor and it’s extremely quiet."

"So far happy with this product. It is nice and quiet and has lots of programmes but not overwhelming so and is easy to use. I think the feature that means you can set the delay for the time you want it to finish.
Large drum too. "

"To me a washing machine is just a washing machine, and there aren’t a lot of features which differentiate one from another. That said however, I’m particularly impressed with this Smeg machine.
Upon delivery, there were 5 drum retaining bolts to remove from the back of the machine and the usual instructions, guarantee and clean/ waste pipes. The machine only comes with a hot water pipe however, in my case I had to go out and buy another pipe because I have split my water outlet so I can also use the dishwasher. This meant that the supplied pipe didn’t fit hence the need to purchase a replacement clean water inlet hose.
Aesthetically, the machine has modern and chique look with bright white body and chrome coloured plastic door and drawer handle. It features an LCD display screen with touch function buttons and a central rotating programme switch.
I’ve seen a number of reviews which say that the touch buttons are so sensitive that you can accidentally stop a programme by walking past however, after trying to replicate the same myself, I haven’t yet experienced the same situation. To remedy this however, there is an easily activated Child Lock function which prevents any changes being made to the programme during a cycle and alleviates this issue.
There is a good range of different programmes selectable using the rotating switch in the centre of the machine. Unfortunately these functions are quite lengthy in time by comparison to many other models with the shortest cycle being 2:20 minutes. There is a short wash cycle which takes 15 minutes however, I tend not to use short cycles too often so this feature is wasted on me. I assume that the duration of the cycles is for a good reason and Smeg have decided to extend the cycle duration in favour of performance as opposed to convenience. There does seem to be long periods of inactivity throughout the cycles with the drum remaining still and no sound of any water being drawn or disposed of but this could simply be my naivety of how washing machines work!
Setting the machine is very simple and the buttons and functions are well labelled although some of the auxiliary functions like the child look isn’t. The symbols are easily identifiable and it doesn’t take a master to understand what functions are set.
In terms of the cleaning power, I can’t vouch for an improvement over that of a shorter cycle as they smell and look just as clean as they did on my previous model; not very helpful I know! What I do know is that the machine is very quiet even at high RPM.
A feature which I do like is the 14 minute steam programme which I use to remove creases from clothes which have been stored in a cupboard for a while and need a freshen up. Especially handy when you forget to iron your uniform the night before work!
In summary this is very good machine wish some great features. The only downside which I’ve found is the duration of the programmes meaning that it takes a lot longer to get through the average family wash."

"This seems to be everything the description stated. Good range of programmes, excellent load capacity, super spin speed range, quiet operation and the steam facility is a very handy bonus not available on most machines. Only minor issue is the touch sensitive power switch which is sometimes activated accidentally simply whilst walking past the machine. Also after the machine has finished a wash it will auto turn off which is good but then a few minutes after automatically turns itself back on for no explicable reason ?? Overall though a very good machine and very good value for money ??"
