This dries a lot faster and does not need to be connected to water pipes.
It takes a big enough load to match our washer.
I don't have the experience to compare with other dryers though."

"This items predecessor, another Bosch condenser tumble dryer, had given over 8 years loyal service with no problems, but was beyond economic repair following a bearing & belt failure. We replaced it with this mid-range series 4 model (I'm not keen on the super expensive A++ heat-pump versions at over double the price) and this new model has more features than the old one it is replacing.
The only slightly annoying feature of this new item is the touch button panel: You do need to touch and hold briefly for it to detect the button "press", a quick tap similar to a phone touch screen just doesn't work, but once you work this out it's not a major issue. It also detects if you lean against the buttons - we have cupbords above the laundry area and if reaching into these it starts/pauses the dryer with a "tummy press" even through multiple layers of clothing. This is why I've only awarded 4 and not 5 stars on this occasion.
One big benefit of this model is the pump to drain kit that is supplied as standard. I'd purchased a kit with the prior model so the water/condensate goes down the washing machine drain and you don't have to empty the heavy/full water tank periodically. This avoids the significant drawback of condensing tumble dryers in my opinion, but it's not something overly advertised by Bosch for this particular model.
We are generally pleased with our purchase. The standard two year Bosch warranty is comforting, but we hope to receive many years more reliable service - as we did from the last dryer."
