"Purchased to replace broken Pioneer that had lasted years. Plug it in the TV HDMI that supports ARC and all other inputs will use sound. I have Sony TV so if unit not on the TV uses built in speaker until surround detected, ACE. Sounds good to me, no worse than a sound bar for music streaming or CD audio but ace in 5:1 for movies, the bass vibrated my sofa. Don't know how good the top range ones sound but why pay more if less is good enough."

"Bought this home cinema system for using as both surround sound for movies and for using the blutooth for music. I was not expecting hi-fi quality sound or earth moving movie sound but neither was I expecting thin, boxy sounding base, muffled speech and lack of any clarity to the sound at all Yes I have played with all the sound settings but the poor sound is due to poor quality hardwear). Sony being a good known brand I expected better, although the speakers are small it is possible to get good sound form modern smaller units, This system sounds like a budget system rather than a more expensive one. I wish I'd bought a budget one then I'd have got what I expected."

"I should have looked how many HDMI slots were on the back of the main box, there is no input HDMI slot, I had to buy an optical cable to connect the TV to the system to get the TV sound through the speakers"
