A fair quality cooker but with some disappointing design flaws at this price point

"This cooker seems quite well built and cooks quite consistently. The 4 top rings are split into 2 x large and 2 x smaller ones, both quite powerful and capable of boiling reasonably quickly when needed. The top surface glass seal around the edges seems like silicon sealant, so not great and will have to see how long it lasts. The ovens are fine and the ability to turn the main oven fan OFF is useful. The support racks for the oven shelves are rather flimsy. At install, the power connection is also very lightweight and rather flimsy and the insulating cover and power cable strain relief design seem surprisingly poor so you will have to be careful the cable is not strained when moving in and out to clean. Side panels are disappointingly just black painted rather than matching the cream fascia and visible when the cooker is in it's niche. This is pretty cheapskating at the p[rice. Control knobs are quite positive in action, but the small lever protrudes so easy to knock and turn on, or alter setting inadvertently. The grill works OK but hard to see inside so you have to pull the grill tray out to see how well browned the food has become, but the handle is detachable and impossible to see how to attach except when the tray is at least partly out of the grill, while it does not latch in place so can become detached or fall off all together in use if knocked - this is actually a POOR design. The need to use a separate push-fit heat deflector if using the grill for >15 mins is a VERY POOR industrial design flaw and obviously a shoddy afterthought to prevent overheating the control knobs - the shape of the front panel should have been made to deflect the heat like other brand models. Overall quite a sturdy device compared with cheaper alternatives, but the design flaws are disappointing and the power connector design should be urgently addressed as it does not appear particularly safe. The detail design and strength of parts are not great considering the price, but compared to many others this is a little more robust. At £699 rrp I would say this is somewhat over-priced - probably reflecting the cost of low volume manufacturing rather than significantly superior construction. There were NO Classic 60 electric cookers available for inspection at any dealer for about a year of searching so had to buy "sight unseen" based on the quality of the parent Co AGA's reputation. This is NOT up to AGA range standards but of course is substantially cheaper. The Leisure GRB6CV is £200 cheaper and a similar style, but a little closer to the ground so oven access not as good, but if on a budget or wanting a larger supplier/better availability and viewable at a showrooms this may be better value for money, though a little flimsier construction. Durability will be determined over time and will have to see if I can live with the poor industrial design ergonomics. "

Looks lovely

"The cooker looks fabulous. The hob has marked quickly unfortunately from my pans but luckily I have hob steal cleaning cream which has worked. It cooks fine but no better than my previous oven which didn’t cost as much."

Lovely oven

"So far very happy with product, easy to use and looks very stylish, only thing we’ve found is nobs move very easily and if you are cleaning and brush them lightly the rings turn on.

Looking great so far

"Only had this a few days. It looks good and so far getting used to it. Love its classic looks. Very reactive ceramic hob. The oven heats up quickly but the controls are a bit complicated.

The control knobs are smart but if you lean on them reaching across you can accidentally switch them on.

There’s a heat guard you have to fit if using the grill for more than 15 minutes. Seems to be an afterthought? Design fail? Don’t like that at all. Otherwise am very pleased with it so far. Haven’t baked a cake yet! But did make pizza with fresh dough. "
