"We have had this dishwasher for approx 18months, it is simple to use and at first it worked well. Build quality is poor and shows after a short period. Washing quality is not as good after a few months use. We always use dishwasher cleaners and rinse our dishes before placing in the machine. Some well branded tablets do not work well in this machine and we have found the remains of tablets laying in the bottom after the cycle has finished.
After 18 months use the dishwasher has stopped heating the water. Contacted Hotpoint to find they can’t find any record of us registering the machine for the extended 5 year parts warranty. One person told us they could find it and repairs told us they couldn’t. Wanted nearly £140 to come and check the machine for a repair (this would cover any parts) but seems a lot for machine that we didn’t pay a lot for. This is the second appliance from hotpoint that we have had issues with and they couldn’t repair economically, the other being a fridge freezer that they couldn’t even find the fault with as it kept raising temperature in the fridge and freezer and our food would go off. Both items now disposed of and replaced with better brands. Hotpoint will not get any of our custom again.

"I have owned dishwashers for 30 years and this is by far the worst one I have ever had. The basic requirement to wash dishes is not met. Unless you rinse your dishes thoroughly before setting off the cycle it does not wash. I have not had a load completed yet where I have not had to wash some pots by hand . The spacing of the racks is not enough to accommodate my Denby dishes or plates. There also is not enough room to allow for my plates without interfering with the top water dispenser arm spinning . Never had this issue before. Very disappointed with the product. Have to use the longest programme for any chance of the pots being clean, even then it does not work. "
