"This is a fantastic hob. My husband and I fight over it to cook on a Saturday night. Well not literally, but I'm sure he silently hopes I'm not in the mood to cook so that he gets to use it.
I thought it might have been a bit complicated to use by the illustration, but it's not. The controls are responsive and each hob even has it's own timer and switches off when the time is up, so perfect rice every time. The best test is with eggs, scrambled or fried. Perfect every time. The simmer level (usually 3) is perfect and a small pan of water boils in just over a minute, making it very economical. In fact, I'm going to purchase an induction hob kettle and do away with my electric one.

"I love how this hob works, it is easy to operate and very quick to bring pans to the boil. How I wish I could use it fully!
My complaint is that this hob is incompatible with the new induction pans and casserole I purchased that cost over £200. I have bought a set of 5 Tefal Premium pans, 3 saucepans and 2 frying pans, and also a Castey Fundix 7.5 litre casserole. My first problem is that none of these will work on the largest round ring of the hob. According to the instruction book, and the question and answer section of this website the largest round ring should take a pan with a base as small as 17cm. My large saucepan, large frying pan and casserole all have bases measuring 18cm yet the large ring does not recognise them.
My other problem is the smallest saucepan and smallest frying pan, both with a 14cm base, will only work on the smallest round ring. Again the instruction book and advice on this website is that the the large flexi-cook zone should take a pan as small as 14cm base, yet my small pans are not recognised so I cannot use them at the same time.
I have contacted Whirlpool about these problems and today their service engineer called, he couldn't find a problem with my pans and he didn't understand why the hob wouldn't recognise them. He returned later in the day after speaking to whirlpool technical section. This time he re-examined my pans and found the answer, although the bases meet the required sizes there is a rim around the base that is not magnetic. The Whirlpool hob only recognises the magnetic surface, hence my expensive pans are mainly incompatible. And I have one ring that I cannot use at all.
I have contacted Tefal and they tell me there pans are designed to work on hobs of all types, so the problem must be with Whirlpool. Yes I am going round in circles!
I strongly advise anyone purchasing new pans for this Whirlpool hob to take a along a tape measure and magnet, check where the base is magnetic and measure the size before buying. I have made a very expensive mistake and I hope my experience stops others making the same error."

"Ok I have had this installed for about two weeks.. I have to say it is amazingly quick to boil water.
Tested against the kettle with the same amount of water. Kettle ( "which" award for speed ) 1.14 secs, the hob 1.50... I have just come from cooking with a gas burner for a year and I'd guess it would have been 3mins plus..
The control of the hob is instantaneous although I'm burning some of my dishes as the heat is very quick and very hot! I used to have to wait for about 5mins on the gas for a happy pan!.. ie steak hot.. with this its about 1 min.. seriously quick.
My only grumble is the sixth sense thing does not work or at least I can't get it working.. also when you put stuff on the hob over the touch sensors it beeps at you!.. no the less its a great bit of kit and I doubt anyone will be disappointed.. I love the swipe control"
