Stylish Fridge Freezer at a very cool price

"We all have our 'desert island' Fridge Freezer in mind - money no object. But as life today is all about getting good value when you're on a budget, the Samsung Fridge Freezer in Silver is definitely worth a second look. It's nicely designed with recessed handles for a sleek and stylish look. The side panels are slightly darker 'Graphite' colour and the front doors have a brushed stainless steel look. When you open the fridge door the light is lovely and bright, so it's easy to find those jars and packs lurking towards the back. The inside door has basic storage areas for cheese and spreads, with the usual door shelf for bottles of milk, juices and cartons. This storage area is raised higher than one would usually expect in order that more room be freed up for the fruit/vegetable drawer at the bottom of the fridge. There are four shelves inside if you count the area above the base drawer. The shelves are fixed in position and, aside from the ability to raise the top shelve an inch higher, they will need to remain in their positions. The second shelf is an 'easy slide' shelf and does exactly that. Making it easier to get to those hard to reach items at the back. I wonder why all the shelves weren't made into easy slide, but ours is not to reason why. The best feature as far as I'm concerned is the exceptionally generous fruit/vegetable drawer at the bottom. My previous fridge barely had enough room in the bottom drawer for a bag or two of salad, so this is a real treat for me. One point to mention is the fact that the bottom shelf of the fridge door is set higher to free up room for the drawer, this means it swings in across the top of the drawer, so you'll need to remember to store shallower items at the front or they will be knocked over or pushed back when the door closes. As far as I'm concerned it's a small price to pay for that super salad drawer. The freezer section offers three drawers, the bottom one being slightly less deep than the other two. There's a decent amount of storage space in the freezer section, but if you're one of those people who likes to batch cook for the freezer, it may not be quite large enough for your needs. It's perfect for a single person or a couple like us, also for a small family. As to whether it's suitable for a large family, it really does depend on your shopping habits of course. I should just mention the user manual supplied. Oooh dear, there are a few hiccups in the translation, add to that the fact that several models are covered in the one booklet as seems to be the norm for manufacturers these days and it isn't the easiest read in the world. My husband, who is a writer, had to go and lie down in a darkened room after reading it! But really, this is a small gripe. All in all we think this is a very stylish and well priced Fridge Freezer representing excellent value for money."

Sleek Modern design

"This fridge freezer looks sleek and modern from the outside with a brushed stainless steel effect on the front and slightly darker graphite coloured sides giving it a minimalist streamlined look that would suit any modern kitchen.

On the inside there are 4 main shelves and a full width and full depth drawer at the bottom. This opens fully with the door open at 90 degrees with nothing blocking it's way. The second shelf down from the top is an easyslide shelf meaning it pulls in and out for easy access to items at the back. A 2 bottle wine rack is included, which is also removable if not required. Although there is nothing wrong with the shelves and they are perfectly strong, they are quite basic in build and design.

On the inside of the door from the top down are a lidded shelf suitable for small items and eggs etc. Below this is a split shelf with the option of setting each half at a different height. The lowest shelf is full width and has plenty of height suitable for milk/wine etc. Just a note that the bottom shelf can not be positioned at the bottom of the door due to the full depth drawer therefore may be higher than you are used – I found this when lifting milk but I guess you would get used to it. Also my daughter can't safely reach it whereas she had been used to preparing her own breakfast.

The freezer is frost free which is great for busy lifestyles. It contains 3 drawers, the top one being slightly shallower than the others. They are all the same depth and didn't seem that big although once I'd packed everything into them they easily held as much as my older freezer. In fact they seemed really deep and I was able to get a large amount of food into each one.

Overall I think this is a very stylish fridge freezer which looks great and although a little basic inside – it does the job and is the perfect size for a family."
