No countdown timer, long programmes

"Good load capacity, quiet.

Could do with a countdown timer, so you can see how long you have left to wait before it finishes. The programmes are mostly very long, so I am using the 30minute one quite a lot. Dryer options don't let you set the time either...just 'iron ready' or'wardrobe ready' etc."

such a pity

"Programmes are to long and you are unable to adjust the spin speed and there is no time delay on it."

Peace at last

"What a find !! an almost silent washer/dryer. We keep going to check it's working as it's like baby gazing. My old washer/dryer was 10 years So fingers crossed this is the same."

Hotpoint WDAL8640P Washer Dryer

"This washer-dryer is excellent value, my first ever, and was the biggest and cheapest during an internet search back in January 2013 at the time of purchase.

I've been doing test washes, and if you want to wash-and-dry cotton bedding with other cotton items, don't, as it takes ages to dry, and bedding will have heavy creasing that will not iron out. Wash-and-dry two cotton pillow cases, a sheet, and a quilt cover alone, and you'll be fine, but there will be light creasing after ironing. Mixed cotton and polyester bedding will not crease after a wash-and-dry cycle, and ironing.

I find programme 10 the best as it's 30 minutes, and the drying programme of the wardrobe symbol is best to use. Don't wash-and-dry large loads, or leave clothes/bedding in the machine after drying, as items will have creases. Dry light loads for best drying results.

If you want to wash with out drying, put the drying knob/dial to vertical (the sun symbol). There is also an Eco programme for wash and/or just drying that will reduce the amount of electricity used during each programme.

Make sure the machine is 100% level, as it will rock violently during a spin of 800rpm. The maximum spin is 14000rpm.

The only issue I have is the sticker on the front of the machine, which is hard to remove, so I've left it on."
