Not worth buying

"It's just not worth buying a cooker from the cheap-ish end of the spectrum - at least not this one. It's a false economy. We've had this one for about half a year now, and it's already a mess. All of the markings have worn off (temperature, etc). The way it is designed makes it very difficult to clean well. The oven temperature does not seem to be adjustable - either fully on (but does not get to top temperatures) or very low. Neither the grill nor the hob heat consistently. When the oven is on, the hob dials stiffen up and it's difficult to adjust them. There's just a generally cheaply made feel to the whole thing. Very, very stupidly, we did not fill out the paperwork or hang on to the receipts when we got the oven so I'm sure we can't ask for any sort of compensation. But really - if you need to replace your cooker, invest in something better than this, it's horrible. You'll need to replace it again very quickly. "

Good but BEWARE

"As far as cookers go, this is as good as any I've ever bought. It's sleek, works well and does its job. The grill pan seems a little cheap and tacky and is a bit clumsy to use but that's not the end of the world.

But bear this in mind before you buy. The gas pipe is mounted on the right and if your gas connection point is not, this cooker will not push right back into a tight fit to the wall. I have a 30mm gap. More importantly, THIS COOKER REQUIRES A MAINS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY for the ignition system. The cooker has a 3pin plug. This is not made clear in the details of the cooker description. I had to take out half of my kitchen to install an additional ring main socket. Fortunately, I could do this myself very cheaply, but it could cost you dear for an electrician.

Overall, it's a good product but not well described in the listing."

Overal pleased, but strange attachment

"Overall for the money this is a good cooker, reasonable build quality and finish apart from the heat deflector attachment. To use the grill they have provided an additional separate heat deflector which you are supposed to place between the existing heat deflector and cooker control knobs. To do so, means forcing it in the gap, between two panels on the front of the cooker, which clearly at the original design stage was not envisaged. Consequently this additional black panel sticks out about 100 mm from the cooker and is supposed to stop the rising heat from the grill spreading over the cooker controls. From my point of view, it looks unsightly as well as a potential injury spot for young children catching their heads etc on the jutting out panel. They advise you only fit it when using the grill, but in doing so you actually damage the white enamel on the cooker because of the tight fit every time you push it in and pull it out. Therefore, you are left with the choice of either leaving it in place permanently or not using it at all. The cooker does have a small deflector fitted as part of its build, but I guess that the manufacturer's have discovered that its too small to deflect the heat from the grill away from the control buttons."
