"Both of the ovens cook food really well. Typical gas oven, need to turn things to cook evenly - for me, that's no problem.
Looks good and cleans really well. The glass panels in the doors slide out easily and it all looks as good a new when cleaned.
The grill is smaller than my last and blows a lot of heat out of the top where the flame is, which I find really unusual. My last cooker didn't do this. And we've all burnt our hands on the grill pan handle (though this is probably just stupidity on our part)!
And sometimes I get a bit annoyed (understatement) when the hobs don't light first time. I sometimes have to jiggle the top of the burner plate to get it to work. This is to do with safety implementations, I think. But it can be REALLY annoying.
But overall, I do like this cooker. It looks nice, cooks well and I can just about cope with the problems that I've outlined in my review. Hope this helps with any potential buyers. Oh, and I got a great price with Appliances Online."
"As our old Oven,s Seals had corroded we needed a quality low cost Cooker but having a Strict space issue we where slightly restricted in what we could Purchase ! After visiting several local outlets we found the Hotpoint HUG61k but it was slightly over Budget , as we are now Pensioners , so after scanning the Webb we found this site .. they provided the same cooker £30 cheaper than the stores with no Delivery charge and a shoppiong voucher of £50 ... The Cooker itself is very efficient it has a Double oven and looks really good , the grill however is Smaller than our last one , but again it is ,efficient ..Our biggest critisism is the fact that the Smaller Gas Rings are still quite powerful even on the lowest Setting also the 4 single Pan holders are quite noisey when moving food around !! The value from Appliances Online was great and the Customer Service even Better ...."
"I bought this to replace our old Stoves fan-assisted cooker. Build quality is very good, & operation is simple once the timer is set up. The lack of a small ring is more than made up for by the ability to turn the medium rings down very low. Having two large rings is a bonus: the previous cooker had only one, & this hampered the performance of the cooker.
The small oven is roomy enough for casseroles & everyday cooking, whilst the large oven is able to accomodate two medium-size chickens, etc.
The lack of fan-assist doesn't affect the cooking too much, although my wife says it takes a bit longer to cook food than with the Stoves.
The controls are well made & easy to use. Ignition is achieved by pressing the relevant knob as you turn it. One missing feature is the lack of a top oven light: the main oven has one, so why not the top oven? The main oven light comes on whenever the oven is lit, which seems a bit 'cheap' to me. A switch would not have pushed the cost of the oven up by very much & this would have given you the option of manual control.
These minor niggles aside, the Hotpoint is very good value for money & I recommend it."

"Read through all the reviews and decided on the Hotpoint HUG61 in black. Haven't had problems that previous reviewers have had. One small problem is the 4 pot stands - very loose in situ. I think 2 doubles would have been better, and well seated in the top. Another point - gas mark 4 in this cooker may not be the same as gas mark 4 in a recipie. I have an oven thermometer and us that to get an accurate heat level - plus can move it from shelf to shelf. Some one had problems with the cooking in the top oven. Make sure that shiny flat metal gizmo is attache to the rear of the metal shelf - help distribute the heat better. All in all, very pleased with this cooker."

"Bought this gas cooker because I liked the reviews and I have always trusted HOTPOINT until now. This cooker is too slow to cook. Flame keeps going out in the top oven and food takes almost triple it's cooking time. Find bottom oven is better...don't ever intend to use the grill as I rarely grill food...I have other fat reducing gadgets.
Over time it may win me over but at this present time i would not recommend it"
