"We have had this cooker for a few years now and have been really underwhelmed from day 1.
The heat escapes so much from the oven that the nobs are too hot to touch, which means that the silver paint has peeled off, and out cupboards either side have melted.
The oven needs to be on at least gas mark 6 to cook anything, and only the items on the top shelf get cooked so I am constantly rotating the food.
It only has two shelves which is a bit of a waste of the space.
When the oven is on the gas rings are intermittent, and will turn themselves off so at the end of cooking some of the food is not ready.
The inconsistency of the gas also affects the oven as the movement of air caused by the door closing is often enough to blow the flame out, so some dinners take much longer to cook than you may have planned.
Overall; this is cheap for a reason. My advice would be to pay a little bit more. It will be worth it!"

"I purchased this on 11/4/17 and have burnt more food in one month than I have ever done in 50 years of marriage. I have contacted New World because the oven will not turn down, it has been diagnosed has having a faulty thermostat and I am now waiting for them to contact me as they are going to take this cooker away and replace it with a new one as it appears there is a problem with the thermostat spares they had in stock and they had to be sent back and the new supply is not due until July"

"This was a replacement for my trusted Parkinson Cowan gas cooker which I'd inherited and used all the time over the past 10 years for our own meals and also for all the meals of the person that I look after. It must have been at least 25 years old. In the end, the ignition failed and reluctantly I felt it was time to replace it. I decided on this New World model as I wanted to spend a bit more and get a sturdy gas cooker that would last - although frankly I didn't expect any modern cooker to match the old P-C.
I am still learning about my New World, but one thing I've noticed is how intense the heat is on all rings, including the oven, even on the lowest possible setting. I have been burning the bottom of a few pans already, and I've noticed that the oven doesn't cook very evenly. I am sure it is probably me getting used to it, but it's a difficult transition for me and I don't normally struggle with changes of this sort. The old cooker was so forgiving, I would leave a Christmas turkey on gas mark 2 early in the morning and it would be perfectly cooked, virtually unattended, by lunchtime. The New World seems well-made but it wasn't cheap and I don't really have any experience of other 'modern' gas cookers to compare it to. Would I have had a similar cooking experience with a cheaper gas cooker? Possibly, and I am trying to work out how the extra money is justified - maybe the inclusion of an electric fan and toughened glass which would make cleaning easier. I don't feel able to either recommend or not recommend it to others at this time. I guess such purchases are a bit of pot luck. For now, I have given it 4 stars all-round, except the 'consistency of heating' which gets a 3 - I just find the intensity of the heat a bit too aggressive for my taste. I guess I need to live with it for a while before I can give a truly informed opinion. "
