"Replaced my old Hotpoint with this new model. Easy to use. Can choose to set the tumble dryer for use or not in the main wash cycles or use independently just like my old one. I mainly use wash cycles 4 and 5, I reduce the wash 4 cycle to 40 degrees and select the mini load when I need it. These all shorten the wash time, the display shows the wash timing as you select what you do/dont want. I use the spin only cycle when I have done any hand washing. The machine is quiet and I like the timer that shows how long the cycle runs and how long is left, which my old model did not have and the option to delay the washer start. Water does gather on opening at the rubber seal to the door as the lip of the seal is not as deep as my old model, I clean this as soon as I open the washer door. A friend has a different make washer dryer and it has the same issue."

"My wife and I have just purchased the Hotpoint washer /dryer wdf 740p and it is so easy to use that after a lot of years where I found it quite difficult to use the other brand names of washer/ dryer models ,this compact and so good to use machine that we have just purchased and received is a winner for me .I found that of all the machines that my wife has used in the past I was totally confused with the operating procedures . So when I read the operating instructions I was delighted to find it a pleasure to use ..this machine from Hotpoint is a winner ,I would recommend this little washer /dryer to anyone . Thank you Hotpoint ...first class"

"not too happy with this machine. Whenever you dry something in it, it rinses and spins the clothes again before it starts to dry it. there was no mention of this in the write-up about it."
