A blast from the past

"I bought this five, yes five, years ago to to cook quick meals for my dad who suffered from dementia. Sadly I never got the chance to install it and it has languished all this time in a box in a corner of the house. Fast forward to today and my standard micorwave is on the blink and my cooker gives up the ghost. Then in a moment of epiphany I remembered this was still 'mint in box'. The first problem is finding a space for it. You have to cater for there to be clearance around the beast since surfaces can get hot. Also the plug lead is quite short. You may struggle if you have cupboards over your work surfaces and a lack of plug sockets. Luckily I found a space and set it up. At this point you should really have downloaded the instructions from the Samsung website, which are clear and easy to follow. You should print them out or view on your tablet for convenience. I have been using it every day for a few days now and I can give the following advice.. In microwave mode the recommended timings are too short. It usually needs another 30 seconds or more but I am relying more on my meat thermometer to check that food is at a safe temperature. Conversely the Hot Blast cooks quicker than recommended for a conventional fan oven in my experience. Again, invest in a good meat thermometer. I cooked a chicken breast joint from cold in 40 minutes at 180 to an internal temperature of 75 deg C where the instructions were to preheat your fan oven and cook for 45-50 minutes. It was beautifully moist and juicy with crispy skin. There are some functions on this microwave that I may never use but so far all the main ones have worked really well. The drop down door is a real help in a small kitchen and the interior has been easy to keep clean. It is notable that the exact same model is still for sale five years later, albeit the price isn't the same, which bodes well for the future as spares will still be available. I think it's out of warranty now but it's doing a good job and I'm in no hurry to replace/repair the other ovens!"

Very pleased with microwave

"Very good, microwave has a lot to offer. Door opens down from the top which I find easier. Easy to keep clean. Drawback is a very sparse manual but if you go on the Samsung website, you can download a full manual which will tell you everything you need to know. "

Clearer instructions could be included.

"Love the oven but would have liked instructions to be included instead of having to get them online.

Haven’t tried all the functions yet! "
